Ancestry of Allen A. Wiant

Updated January 2, 2004

Johannes Weigand (Wiant/Wyant) came to this country in 1776 as a teen-aged Hessian soldier. He eventually settled in Albemarle County, VA. He was my great-great-great grandfather. I still know nothing about my g-g-g-grandmother.
I am also attempting to identify the immigrant ancestors of each of my 32 g-g-g-grandparents, and have been more or less successful for those with surnames Artz, Bentz, Bergner, Brecht, Hanzel, Hirsch, Hofmann, Homan, Maggard, Nauman, Printz, and Walther. Others being researched include Arnold, Buroker, Crook, Fetter, Hoak, Lyons, Robinson, Wood, and Zimmerman.
