| I have traced my Brown ancestors in Middlesex and Monmouth Counties New Jersey back to the late 1700's. I am now looking for the parents of George Brown who married Elizabeth Gardner in Shrewsbury in 1815. The Sheens came from England and settled in Paterson, New Jersey where many of them were silk weavers. My grandfather, William Sheen ran a butcher shop on Madison Avenue in Paterson. He was married to Alice Stewart whose parents were Thomas and Mary Stewart. They apparently immigrated from England about 1865 but I have been unable to find any other information about them. |
