Hi Sharon!
I first want to say that I was very impressed with your website.I am the
grandson of James Wilburn Earp and Bertha Josephine Trivett. The information
that you received from Dennis Moore on James Wilburn Earp was obtained by me.
I mentioned this so you would know who I was.The reason I am sending you
this E-mail is because I believe that your family tree may be incorrect or I
should say that some of the information from the Earp Family Genealogy by
Jean Whitten Edwards may be incorrect.I have done a lot of research on the
Earps and have gathered many different opinions on our past ancestors that
had migrated from Northern Ireland.I have it that John Earpe, Sr. was born
Bef. 1580 and died Abt. 1631.Your John Earpe that was born Abt. 1600 was
John Earpe, Sr's son John Earpe, Jr.John Earpe, Sr. had two sons, John
Earpe, Jr., and Thomas Earpe, Sr.You have that Thomas Earpe Sr., was born
Abt. 1631 which is impossible.Thomas Earpe Sr., was shown holding land of
the late John Earpe in 1631 which means that he must have been born Abt. 1610
or before, also John Earpe, Sr., had died Abt. 1631 or before.(Source:
Wayne Ward.)Thomas Earpe, Sr., had a son by the name of Thomas Earp, Jr.,
born Bet. 1650 - 1656.John Earpe, Jr., had a son named Thomas Earpe born
1631, Neither of them had migrated to the new world. You may choose to keep
the information that you obtained from the Earp Family Genealogy, if not I
will be more than happy to send you what I have on our early ancestors.I
had giving this information to Dennis Moore and I assume that he choose not
to use it or he would have giving you that information along with the
information on James Wilburn Earp.I thought that I would E-mail you and let
you decide for yourself. If you have any information that goes against the
information that I have I would appreciate it if you could let me know.
Thank you.
Wyatt Earp
