The WIDEEN Family

This project began (unfortunately) after nearly all of my relatives were dead and I was more than curious about my own family tree. I knew my Grandfather had migrated from Sweden and Grandmother from Ireland, but I didn't have any other information. Sooooo, the search began for decendants of Charles (Claes, Charlie, Charly) Wideen (Parad, Tingberg) and Mary (Anna) White.

As I have an uncommon surname, I began on the internet writing to all people in Sweden and the US and Canada with the same last name as me. Only one fella from Sweden wrote me back and said we were not related, but he would try to help me find my family. After only a few weeks, he had actually found living descendents of my Great-Grandmother. Since then Fairel and I have traveled to Sweden and met that half of the family.

With regards to my Grandmother, she had a very common last name, but I hired a researcher in Belfast who found she had brothers, but nothing of what became of them.

So, the research goes on both in both in Sweden and Ireland......
