* Widener/Widner/Taft Genealogy*

Updated December 15, 2010

I`m researching Widener/Weidner/Widner. My oldest desendant is Ludwig Lewis Weidner born 1725/30 in Germany. He arrived in Philadelphia August 1,1747 aboard the bilander Vernon. He lived in PA.,N.C.,West Va.,and died in 1809 in Grainger County,Tn.
I`m also researching Taffe/Taft. My mother`s father was Arthur Garfield Taft born Oct 29,1881 in Chicago. He was orphaned at age 12yrs he did not know his mothers name. His father`s name was James Taffe/Taft and he was supposely born in Ireland.
Arthur Taft claimed that Robert A Hook born in Ireland in 1874 was his half brother. Both of these men were married to the same woman Lillie L. Reedy. She had two sons with Robert and one daughter with Arthur my mother Josie May Taft.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Fellow Researchers we need more male Widner/Weidner/Widener
decendants to provide a dna sample so it can be determined
what line of WDNR`s you came from and to help determine if
the original WDNR settlers who came in the 1700`s were related.
