The Widener family includes Meccia, Attardo, Tedrow and Adreon lineages. Salvatore Meccia (b. 1874) emigrated from Ventimiglia, Sicily to New York September 30, 1897. While living in New York, he married Rosaria Attardo, also previously from Ventimiglia, Sicily. They settled in Chicago, Illinois and had eight children.

Michael Tedrow, Sr. (b. 1739) in Teterow, Mechlenberg, Germany came to the United States between 1739 - 1750 and settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania. He later moved to York County, PA and served as a Private in the York County Militia in 1767. Michael and his wife, Catherine had many children; one of which, George Tedrow, married Rachel Rhodes and lived in Harrison County, Ohio. Isaac Tedrow, Jr.(b. 1831) married Susanna Adreon who died after two years of marriage. He then married her sister Elizabeth Adreon and eventually settled in Lexington, Illinois.
