Notes for Anne Torolvsdotter Faremo: Letter From Tommy Dale To Bob Wideen, October 4, 2002: Hi Robert, I don't know where Knut Bygland got his information from, but I'm pretty sure that he got the information from the original sources. According to Knut Bygland: Olav Torbjørnson Langeid - son of Torbjørn Olavson Birkeland and Siri Steinsdotter Langeid. Anne Torolvsdotter Faremo- daughter of Torolv Olavson Faremo and Signe Jonsdotter Bjørgum. The name "Torolvsdotter" means "daughter of Torolv" and Torbjørnsson means "son of Torbjørn". They used to have middle names like that back then, so most of the time it's easy to know what the father of a person's name is. I see that Tharald [son of Olav T. Langeid and Anne Torolvsdotter] used the middle name "Storestein". That is the name of the farm where he was born. I live pretty close to Bygland, and the name "Storestein" means "Big rock". The reason they called the farm Big rock, is because there are two huge rocks lying on each side of the road that goes by the farm. The farm is not there anymore. END.
