I am researching the following families: DREIER - came from Schlangen, Germany, settled in Pottawattami Co., Iowa, later moved to Arriba, CO. REMMERS - believed to come from Oldenburg, Germany, settled in Pottawattami Co., Iowa. EVENSON - came from Hurdal, Norway, settled in Monroe Co., Wisconsin and later moved to Freeborn Co., Minnesota. KNUDSON, KNUTSON, KNUDTSON (any variation) - came from Eggedal / Sigdal, Norway, believed to have lived in Wisconsin for a couple of years and then moved to Freeborn Co., Minnesota. ARNESON, ANDERSON, BRAATEN (used all three last names) - came from Hallingdal, Norway, settled in Waseca Co., Minnesota. CHRISTIANSON - came from Kongsvinger, Norway, settled in the Fargo, ND area. PEDERSON, ANGEL - came from Kongsvinger Norway. HELT, HELD - came from Kirchhasel, Germany, lived in Pitsford or Rochester, NY, part of the family moved to Wisconsin and part to Spillville, Iowa, my branch moved to Walsh Co., North Dakota. CHIZEK, CIZEK - came from Cicenice, Bohemia and settled in Spillville and Ft. Atkinson, Iowa. SWARTZ, SVARC - came from Mestecko, Bohemia, lived in Braidwood and Coal City, IL moved to Spillville, Iowa, and later to Walsh Co., North Dakota. HULA (John (Antonin) and his wife Mary (Antonie PAVLICKOVA) - came from Kalubice, Bohemia, believed to have lived in Braidwood and Coal City, IL. The story is that he is buried in IL and she is buried in Mauston, WI (have not been able to verify this yet). Their daughter Veronica married Vaclav SWARTZ and they moved to Walsh Co., North Dakota.WIEST - came from Germershem, Pflaz, Germany went to Rohrbach, South Russia (Ukraine) moved to McIntosh Co., North Dakota. HOFFMAN - came from Rohrbach, South Russia, to McIntosh Co., North Dakota. BOSCHEE, and RUDOLF - came from Kassel, South Russia. AIPPERSPACH, AIPERSCHBACH - came from Grosingersheim, Ludwigsburg, Germany, went to Bergdorf, South Russia and then to McIntosh Co., ND. JAHRAUS - came from Ilbesheim, Germany, (possibly from Hungary in the 1500's), went to Rohrbach, South Russia, and then to Campbell Co., South Dakota. HEINRICHSOHN - came from Danzig, South Russia to Campbell Co., SD. KRUEG and WAGNER - came from Rohrbach, South Russia, moved to Campbell Co., SD.
