The Mitchell Wiener Family Home Page

I am just beginning to research my family history. The primary names in the family are Wiener, Gerberg, Schaap, and Berman. I know the Gerbergs are originally from Nemirov, Ukraine, and came to the US in about 1904. Their names are Jacob David Gerberg and Mollie Brounstein. I am actually living in Kiev, Ukraine now, and have located this city. I will visit this summer.
I believe the Wiener's are also from Ukraine, but may be from Russia. The name was probably changed when they entered the US. They also came to the US around the turn of the century. The Schaap's are from Holland. The Berman's may possibly be from England. My grandmother, Marian Berman was born there, but I believe she was in transit from elsewhere.

Any assistance would be appreciated, and of course, I am willing to help anyone else with their research.
