I began researching the Wietholter family from Ladbergen, Westphalia, Germany in 1987 after my parents visited Ladbergen. Before then, we only had family history going back to my great-grandfather Wilhelm Heinrich Ernest Wietholter (b.August 14, 1843) and his spouse Elisebeth Christine Kuck (b.April 11, 1852). Heinrich and Elisebeth came to the United States from Ladbergen in 1873. Since January 2001, I have been able to trace the ancestry back to my 6th great-grandfather Jacob Heinrich Wietholter (b.1697) and his spouse Christina Kattmann (b.1705). As part of this research, I have also been able to trace the following ancestral names of my family to the dates shown; Aufderhaar 1790, Budde 1749, Egley about 1806, Grotholtman 1711, Hemen 1742, Hemmer about 1800, Hoge 1698, Holscher 1807, Kattman 1705, Kollemeier 1700, Krusenclaus about 1730, Kuck mid 1600's, Lageman 1688, Meckstroth about 1740, Nussmeier 1620, Peters about 1775, Schellenberg 1846, Schroer 1721, Schroerluke 1799, Shuster 1828, Stienecker 1714, Wierwille 1680, Wiethoff 1819, Willemeier 1691, and a lot of others. I have a lot of names and information to add to the database as time permits. Any additions or corrections (names, birth dates, anniversary dates, death dates, etc.) that you have would be appreciated. Dates of living individuals are not posted to the home page. There are 2782 individuals currently included in this family tree. Astronaut Neil Armstrong was added in 2004.
