* Kuhbander Family Tree*

Updated March 7, 2005

Welcome to the Kuhbander Family Tree Home Page.

The First Annual Kuhbander Family Reunion of the New Mellinnium will be held August 6th, 2005, in Ohio. Please e-mail to request more information.

Michael Kuhbander immigrated from Germany to the United States in 1869 aboard the ship "Germania". Traveling with his sister, Margaret, his brother, Frederick, and Frederick's wife Theresa and child Maria, they followed the Eric Canal to Ohio, eventually settling in the Xenia Avenue area of Dayton, Ohio.

Michael, a stone cutter by trade, married his wife, Anna Kastl, at St. Mary's Church in Dayton in 1870. Unfortunately, Michael died in 1890, leaving Anna to give birth to their 12th child five months later.

Margaret married Henry Rackel also at St Mary's Church in 1873. They raised 2 of their 5 children to adulthood.

Frederick and Theresa, married in Germany, raised their family of 13 children in the Xenia Avenue area. Seven lived to raise families of their own.

Our family tree is an on-going project. Any information, no matter how small, is welcomed. If you think you may be related to an individual listed, please feel free to send an e-mail. All input is greatly appreciated, and may prove to add another piece to the 'puzzle'.

Thank you for visiting The Kuhbander Family Page. We hope you enjoyed your visit.
