Michael Kuhbander, immigrated to the United States in 1869 aboard the ship "Germania", along with his sister Margaret, and his brother Frederick, Frederick's wife Theresa and their daughter Maria. Traveling the Eric Canal, they eventually made their way to Dayton, Ohio, where they settled in the Xenia Avenue area and began raising their families.
Michael and wife Anna Kastl were married at St. Mary's Church in Dayton in 1870. Michael died in 1890, leaving Anna to give birth to their 12th child, five months later.
Theresa married Henry Rackel, also at St. Mary's Church, in 1873, but only 2 of their 5 children grew to adulthood.
Frederick and Theresa Kuhbander eventually raised 7 children, although Theresa had given birth to 13.
The Kuhbander Tree is an on-going project and the search for new information is never ending. If you think you may be related to any individual mentioned, please feel free to send an e-mail. As with working on a jigsaw puzzle, we are excited to locate and place another piece of the 'puzzle', no matter how small. Your input is always welcome.
