      1. Rhoda Cook, born August 22, 1799 in Giles County, Virginia; died April 13, 1879 in Mercer County, Virginia. She was the daughter of 2. Daniel Cook and 3. Rosanna Wilhoit. She married (1) Larkin Williams March 10, 1813.

Notes for Larkin Williams:
Larkin was drafted in Pittsylvania Co. Virginia into Captain Thomas H. Wooding's Company of The Virginia Militia during the War of 1812. He was then detached and assigned to Captain Jesse Carter's 101st Regiment where he served in Norfolk, Virginia for about six months. He was mustered out on February 15, 1814. His marriage bond to Rhoda Cook was signed by Daniel Cook and James Houtchins.

      Children of Rhoda Cook and Larkin Williams are:
  i.   Lewis Williams, married Sally Cadle.
  ii.   Fielden Martin Williams, born 1818; married Nancy Cadle Abt. 1843.
  iii.   Andrew Williams, born 1820 in Mercer County, Virginia; died 1898 in Chesapeak, Kanawha County, West Virginia; married (1) Ora Pettry; married (2) Mary Ann Law September 26, 1864.

  iv.   John Williams, born August 22, 1825 in Mercer County, Virginia; died 1880 in Mason County, West Virginia; married Celia Pettry November 10, 1846.
  Notes for John Williams:
He was first Lieutenant from 1850 to1854 in the Mercer County State Militia. The family were members of the Baptist Church. They were received into the Church in1858 by Rev. Matthew Ellison. They first settled down in Mercer County, then moved to Mason County as a result of a property line dispute with relatives. Each relative built a fence two feet apart. John was a farmer in Mason County. They are buried at the Williams Cemetery, located on the Milton Sayre farm, about a mile from Capehart, Mason County, West Virginia.

  vii.   Samuel L. Sr. Williams, born October 03, 1835 in Mercer County, Virginia; married Mary Ann Pettry April 23, 1857 in Mercer County, Virginia.
  Notes for Samuel L. Sr. Williams:
Samuel and Mary moved to Kanawha County, Cabin Creek District in the late 1870's.
