HEINRICH AUGUST PANNHORST was the son of JOHANN HENRICH PANHORST and HANNE LOUISE KRUGER. Heinrich, or as he was also called Henry Panhorst, was born on 17 January 1826 in Bielefeld, Westfalen Germany and died on 5 April 1905 in Quincy, Illinois. He married HANNE WILHELMINE HENRIETTE KOCH 31 May 1851 in Evangelisch, Heepen, Westfalen, Germany, daughter of CHRISTIAN KOCH and HANNE PULS. Heinrich Panhorst was a nurseryman with his business located at Chesnut east of 20th and lived on the corner of Spring and 22th Street in Quincy, Illinois. Henry and his wife, Willimina are buried in the Green Mount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois.
The one and only child of Henry and Willimina Panhorst was MILIE MATHILDE JULIANE PANNHORST or JULIE PANHORST who was born on 3 October 1846 in Hepen, Westfallen Germany and died on 28 January 1888. Their only daughter, Julie, had a child out of wedlock by a man named John Mueller. The child's name was Emma Wilhemine, born on 21 Oct 1864. Henry and Willemina Panhorst then raised their grandchild, Emma, while their daughter, Julie, married a man named William Walbring on 11 Mar 1869 to whom she bore ten children. Julie and William Walbring lived on a farm near Mendon, Illinois. The ten Walbring children were very close to their half sister Emma and Emma's children: Violet, Isabel and Blanche.
