Warren migrated to Georgia with his mother and father in the late seventeen hundreds. He was about twenty-one years of age, in 1816, when he married Elizabeth Medlock in Franklin County. The 1820 Federal Census of the United States shows that Warren had become a resident of Captain Cattler's Militia District in Hall County. This District was Around the town of Gillsville. He had moved back to Franklin County by 1823. According to the Franklin County Tax Digest, Warren was a resident of Captain Tabor's (267th) Militia District, where he paid tax on 136 acres located on the waters of Toms Creek. The 267th Militia District of Franklin County later became the Wolf Pit District of Stephens County. Warren's land was on present-day Tom's Creek Road near Eastanollee, GA. Later he acquired additional land in this area.
In the Land Lottery of 1832, Warren received land in the 4th District, 4th Section of Floyd County, near the town of Rome. However, he never left Franklin County, he may have sold this land to his younger brother William, who also received land in the west part of the state in the Lottery of 1832. William moved there shortly after 1834, and was joined by another brother, Presley (Preston), shortly after 1838. Warren continued to purchase additional land on Tom's Creek.

| Notes for JOHN W. STOWE: John W. Stowe bought 100 acres of land on Mags Creek from his father on April 05, 1861 for which he paid $100.00. It is believed that he later moved to Texas. He fought for the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. He enlisted in Co. H, 24th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of Northern Virginia, Franklin County, GA, "Currahee Rangers", December 28, 1862 and was appointed a corporal in 1864. The oath to the United States that John was required to sign after the Civil War describes him as: fair complexion, dark hair, blue eyes, 5 feet 10 inches tall, age 35 years, and a farmer. John wrote the following letter to his father during the war, which was delivered to him by Mr. Keeling. It was copied exactly as written and reads as follows (found in Mrs. McCurley's trunk): Camp near Winchester Va September 16th 1864 Dear father and mother I again Sate my-self to write you a few lines which leaves me well at this time and do hope these few lines will find you health well. father I have no news to write at this time mor than we are going from place to place after raiding parties of yankees. We had a skirmish the day before yesterday but nobody got hurte. father Kelling can tell you more than I can rite he can tell you all about our boys geting taken prisonor more than I can rite about it. father I want to see you and mother as bad as I can but the is no chance now. father I want you to do the best you can and not be no mor uneasey about us here than you can help for we all will do the best we can. Mikell is taken a way from us and I have no power to help it. I hope he may live to get back again but the lord only nows. I hope they will treat him well We had all a heap rather stay here in this valley than to stay at richmond Virg this is such a helthy plase here. I felt veary sory that our Campaigan has loste So meny in the Sumars Compaigan. father be shore and rite sone and rite all the news you hav got. thay Say theay are a goine to pay role all the prisoners and I hope Isham and mike will sone gete home agane. father and mother I want to See you all very bad I hope the Lord will spar us all to mete a gane in this World. your son until Death. 4.MARTHA2 STOWE (WARREN1)10 was born Abt. 1809, and died Bet. 1840 - 1850 in Franklin County, Georgia.
Notes for MARTHA STOWE:
We learned from one of Warren Stowe's depositions that his daughter Martha had a "Phthisic condition which renders her unhealthy". This was an old term used any wasting disease, especially tuberculosis of the lungs. Martha never married, and lived with her parents until her death, however, we learn from a Franklin County Court Record on September 4, 1837, that she bore a child.John Catlett was the Justice of the Peace at the time, and was appointed guardian:
"Ordered John Catlett be and hereby appointed Guardian for William J. Stoe illigitimate of Martha Stoe."
On July 1, 1839 the court appointed Martha's father as guardian:
"Warren Stoe be appointed Guardian of Jasper Stoe illigitimate child of Martha Stoe and that John Catlett Guardian for Jasper Stoe illigitimate be and he is hereby dismissed from said Guardianship."
After Warren died, Jasper went to live with Martha's older brother, James, and was raised with the Stowe Name.
