Notes for Harrington Clinton: From Clinton Family lineages by Howard C. Clinton: " Very little is known of Harrington except that he was caught up in the civil Wars of King Charles I, and as a 'Loyalist Cavalier' fled the country in fear of his life. It is beleived he emigrated to America in 1640. It is not known whom he married, or if he brought his wife with him or married in Milford, Connecticut, where he settled. It is also very probable that he was the father of Lawrence Clinton, born in 1643 just a few weeks after his father died. Lawrence, left an orphan, never knew who his parents were, but knew his name was 'Loronce Klinton'. Lawrence never axquired much formal education but became skilled in woodworkings by indenturing himself as a boy to a man who made chairs and other furnishings of wood." page 127
