[Willey Family Tree 16 Jan 2005.FTW]
Much research was done on the Renfro (all spellings) by Dr. D.O. Manshardt of Peoria, IL.He spent all his vacations for 25-30 years traveling to many States and Counties recording information regarding ALL Renfro's.The last several years he was going blind. His research consists of approximately 150-175 typewritten pages of court records regarding Renfro's.He published his finding in 1970, "Renfro Family Records in Kentucky" and placed a copy with the Kentucky Historical Society, Filson Library in Louisville, Ky and Grayson County Public Library in Leitchfield, KY.Many current day researchers refer to his work. Some say there were errors.Let's face it folks, we make mistakes today using the latest technology.

(Bedford Co, book 2, page 88).Here again you will note that William, Jr. was named for his grandfather, not his father. The families were so close, the junior was probably necessary to keep them straight.. |

From: Danielle A Lankford Date: 05/24/05 20:53:12 To: [email protected] Subject: Your wonderful website & Rentfro's Delores Sue Willey:I wanted to thank you for building such a wonderful webiste! It was full of great information. My name is Danielle Lankford.I am currently researching the Lankford & Rentfro Families of North Carolina, Tennessee & Illinois. I was wondering, during your research if you had came accross Elizabeth "Lizzie" Rentfro, she was born 16 August 1774 either in VA or NC. She was the daughter ofJohn Rentfro & Elizabeth Fisher.Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Rentfro was not married, but was a 'partner' of Hickman Hensley.Hickman Hensly was married to Elizabeth Fisher's sister, Agnes Fisher. Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Rentfro grandparents were William Rentfro& Elizabeth Anne Cheney. Hickman Hensley & Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Rentfro had several children (they all seemed to have kept the Rentfro Surname), the one I am related to is Rahode (Rody) Rentfro, she was born 27 January 1796 in Buncombe Co, NC (which is now Yancey Co, NC). She married John "Hickman" Lankford. Any information you have would be great. If you don't have this information and are interested, I will gladly share what I have with you. I hope to hear from you soon,Danielle Lankford, Pacifica, CA <[email protected]> |
