Notes for Charles Sidney Williams, Sr.: Sid was Sheriff of Sioux County for 12 years. At the same time he ran a ranch and raced horses.
Sid was transporting a prisoner to the State Penitentiary in Lincoln in 1935 when he was involved in a one-car crash. He suffered a severe spinal injury. In March of 1938 he became paralyzed from the waist down and died in May of 1938.
Sid came with his family to Dawes County at Chadron. Nebraska in 1886 and was a homesteader and pioneer.
