Sent to Camp Gamble June 3, 1863 to Invalid Corp. 36th Co. 1st Battalion. Transferred to Vet. Res. Corp. August 1, 1863. Mustered out June 16, 1865 at Nashville, Tennessee. He was 39 when he enlisted, per Military record said he was 31. He was in Co. B 51st Regiment Illinois Infantry. There are 28 Real estate transactions recorded in his name at Ogden Village,Illinois during the period 1861 - 1914 (the year he died) Started Military pension December 21, 1891 of $12.00 per month later on increased to $30.00 per month till he died. Per Military Pension file he died August 1, 1913 this differs from his tombstone which has 1914 as his death date. He could sign his name as evidenced by several of the forms for his pension.
