Urlind was killed in a motorcycle accident which occurred on Lake Shore Blvd in Cleveland, OH on June 25, 1951. The accident occurred just a block from his home and was caused by the cycle sliding on a smooth manhole cover. He was thrown from the bike and collided with an oncoming car head-on which reulted in his death at the age of nineteen..
