March 21, 1921, Monday, I was at preaching this morning. also to-night.

 

March 22, Tuesday, I was at preaching again to-day, also to-night.

 

March 23, Wednesday, Was at preaching service this morning and to-night. The meeting closed to-night, only had one conversion that was Roughner Stalnaker.

 

March 24, Thursday, I was at prayer meeting to-night. Dewey came back with me.

 

March 25, Friday. Mary Meadows came up to school to-day and we went on a hike. Had a spelling race under a rock cliff.

 

March 26, Saturday, I was over at Mrs. Hawkin's this morning a little while. We went out to church to practice our Easter program this afternoon. I was at choir practice to-night. Dewey came home with me.

 

March 27, Easter Sunday, Mother went over to Lilly's yesterday afternoon. This is a lovely day. Dewey & Eddie went out to church with us Our Easter program was good. Dewey, Eddie, Bernice & Ruby Carr, Mary Meadows, Mrs. Nettie Hawkins, and a lot of children were up here a while this afternoon. Of course Eddie & Dewey were here to-night.

 

March 28, Monday, dark, cold rainy day. My, My! but I have got the blues to-day. My cousin, Clifton King will be here to-night I guess.

 

March 29, Tues.

 

March 30, Wednesday.

 

March 31, Thurs. rainy night. We didn't go to prayer meeting. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night.

 

April 1, April fool day. Friday.

 

April 2, Saturday, Wanda Leone and I were down at Bernice Carr's a little while this afternoon. Eddie & Dewey were here again to-night.

 

April 3, Sunday. nice day. Mother, Sylvia & Wanda went up to Mr. Johnson Wright's to-day. Mary & I were at home. Papa went over to Lilly's this morning. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night. We went to young people's meeting, or rather, to The Rosedale Christian Endeavor Society.

 

April 4, Monday, Mary & I went down to Bernice Carr's a while to-night. There was a lot of drunk men in town to-night. They were to have a dance to-night, but their ladies failed to get there.

 

April 5, Tuesday. Birt and Orel were here awhile to-day. Orel has adenoids and Birt brought him over to the Dr. for him to be examined.

 

April 6, Wednesday, nice day. Mrs. Bitha Upton & Mrs. Netta Hawkins were over a little while. They came over after me to go over to Mrs. Hawkins to help make the program for the Rosedale Christian Endeavor society. of course I went. We three are the committee on program. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night.

 

April 7, Thursday, We were at prayer meeting to-night. Of course Eddie & Dewey were here to-night. rained a little bit.

 

April 8, 1921, Friday, nice morning, raining this evening. I only have ten regular pupils now.

 

April 9, Saturday, rainy part of the day. I was down at Mrs. Bitha Upton's awhile last night, Bernice & Ruby Carr were there also. We covered our boxes with blue crepe paper for the pie supper out here at the church to-night. I was over to Mrs. Nettie Hawkins to-day to help bake. We went to the pie supper to-night. Dewey got my box. He paid $5.00 for it. Eddie got Mary's box. He only paid $4.00 for it. We had a nice time. They were making up money to get the roof put on the church. I guess they made up nearly $90.00.

 

April 10, Sunday, cold, snowy, We were at Sunday school and preaching this morning. I was out at Mrs. Tenney's this afternoon and helped her out with the children. Clarence Conley was here a little while. Eddie & Dewey were here of course.

 

April 11, Monday, nice day

 

April 12, Tues. nice day. To-day is Ariel Putnam's birthday. She is 13 years old. To-day is the last day of my school. I am quitting at six months. I was supposed to teach 6 1/2 mo.. My but I am glad school is out! We were at choir practice to-night. Mary & I were over at Nettie Hawkins awhile to-night.

 

April 13, 1921, Wednesday. I worked at my reports this evening. Nettie was over awhile to-night, & I went home with her and stayed all night.

 

April 14, Thursday, We were at prayer meeting to-night. I was down at Bernice's this evening & her & I went after milk down at Ethel Sands. We, Bernice & I came up to meeting together. I got a letter from Raymond this evening. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night.

 

April 15, Friday, nice day, but rained last night. I ironed to-day. Bernice was up awhile this evening. I wrote three letters to-day.

 

April 16, Saturday, rainy day. Mr. Willie King had his sale to-day. He is going to move down below Clarksburg some place. Hattie, his little daughter has the diphtheria, I don't know just when they will get to move. We got dinner for four besides the family to-day. They were George Miller, Wade Jones, Charley & Goldie Bennett. To-day is Dewey's birthday. He is 21 years old. Him & Eddie were here to-night.

 

April 17, Sunday, nice morning, cold rainy afternoon. I was at Sunday school this morning. Bernice & Ruby Carr were here this afternoon, also George Miller, Dewey & Eddie. We were at the Rosedale Christian Endeavor Society to-night.

 

April 18, 1921, Monday, cold, rainy morning. snowed a little last night. I am going over to Lilly's to-day. I am going to ans. Ray's letter then I am going to get ready to go. Well, I went over to Lilly's this morning. I

stopped at Mrs. Minney's for dinner and then stopped at Uncle Sam Carroll's and stayed a good while this afternoon.

 

April 19, Tuesday, Frosty morning. Lilly's baby is awfully sweet. Yesterday was the first time I had seen her.

 

April 20, Wednesday. At Lilly's yet.

 

April 21, Thurs. we went down to Bay's awhile this afternoon. Gay was up at Lilly's two or three times since I have been here.

 

April 22. Friday. I came home to-day. I came over by the old home place, Father was there working so we came home together. I picked some greens as I came home. I went out to the Odd Fellows lodge hall to a supper they had held in token of a anniversary of the lodge. Had a nice time. Uncle Sam Carroll died to-night. Don't know just what time. He was paralyzed Tuesday. Has been sick a long time.

 

April 23, Saturday, I ironed and baked a cake to-day. Dewey and Eddie were here to-night.

 

April 24, Sunday, we were at Sunday school this morning. I taught our class as our teacher wasn't there,    also class no. 3. They all came in one class as their teacher was absent also. Mary taught a class of small children. Uncle Sam was buried this afternoon at the Rosedale cemetery. There was a large crowd at the funeral. I didn't go to the cemetery. I was in the church at the funeral service. Mary, Eddie, Dewey & I went out Kodaking this afternoon. Took several pictures. Don't know if they will be good or not. Hope so. Bernice Carr was up here a while this evening. Mrs. Vernetta Frame and Clifford were here for dinner. Mrs. Reeder, Mr. Reeder, Ray, and a lot of other people were here this afternoon, Clarence, Audra, Helen & Lorna were here also. Of course Eddie & Dewey were here to-night.

 

April 25, Mon. nice day, yesterday sure was a beautiful day. Uncle Sam was 71 yrs. old. Was born March 27, 1850.

 

April 26, Tues. nice day.

 

April 27, Wednesday. Wanda Leone is two years old to-day. Our cousin Frank Conley came to visit us to-day. He went on over to Clarence's this evening. I got a letter from Raymond this evening.

 

April 28, rained some to-day. A ten lb. boy was born to Mr. & Mrs. Howard Barton April 26, Tues.. Wish them much joy. Frank & Clarence came over to preaching this evening. Frank is going to stay all night. Of course Eddie & Dewey were here to-night.

 

April 29, Friday. I stayed in the store most of the day. Mother & I washed Wednesday. I have an awful cold. Don't feel very well. I ans. Raymond's letter to-night. Well, I am sleepy so I am going to bed in a little while. Frank started home this morning.

 

April 30, Sat. I ironed some to-day. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night.

 

May 1, Sunday. Cold, rained some. We went to Sunday school this morning, I was at Bernice Carr's for dinner to-day. Bernice & Mabel & Ruby came up home with me. Of course Dewey & Eddie were here. We went to the Rosedale Christian Endeavor to-night.

 

May 2, Mon. rainy day.

 

May 3, Tues. Mary, Eddie, Dewey & I were at Bernice Carr's awhile to-night & played flinch, Orvin Shamblin & Faye Marshall were there awhile also. Vera McMar is there, has been there two or three nights.

 

May, 4, Wednesday rained yesterday & to-day. I finished tatting my yoke. It is nice. Cleo Reip was here a little while.

 

May, 5, Thursday. Cloudy, cold and rained some. Harley came home last night. He went over to Mr. Reeder's & Birt's to-day. We washed and I scrubbed the kitchen. I had to stay in the store awhile this evening.

 

May 6, Friday, I was at prayer meeting last night. Dewey & Eddie were here last night. Dewey proposed and as I don't love him in that way, I didn't say yes. Oh, how sorry I feel for him.

 

May 7, Saturday, rained some to-day, Mr. Emery Rollyson & his daughter Bonnie,

 

began a singing school on Mill Fork to-day. They are going to have a pie social out at the Three Forks school house by Dalton Reip's, to-night. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night.

 

May 8, Sunday, nice day. We were at Sunday school & preaching this morning. Mary, Eddie, Dewey & I went Kodaking this afternoon. Had a nice time. Went to preaching to-night.

 

May 9, Monday, lovely day, my cow had a calf yesterday evening. I stayed in the store a good bit to-day.

 

May 10, Tuesday, the Braxton Co. Assessor was in town to-day. His name is Aaron Gumm. He is a fine looking young man. Dewey & I talked a while to-night. It makes me sad to talk to him.

 

May 11, Wed. We washed to-day, rained some.

 

May 12, Thurs. nice day. Wish I knew what was in store for me. Nice morning. We went up to prayer meeting to-night. I was the leader.

 

May 13, Friday, rained to-night. Dewey & Eddie were here awhile to-night. We played flinch a little while.

 

May 14, Saturday, nice day. I ironed yesterday and made a cake.

 

May 15, lovely day, (Sunday) We were at Sunday school this morning. Bernice Carr was up at our house this afternoon. Also Mrs. Viola Tenney and her two little daughters Alma, and the baby one. I forgot her name. Of course Eddie & Dewey were here. We three girls, Bernice, Mary & I, Eddie, Dewey & Wanda Leone, went car riding this afternoon. Dennis Perrine took us in his car. We sure had a nice time. We were at The Rosedale Christian Endeavor Society to-night.

 

May 16, Monday, lovely day. Of course Eddie & Dewey were here last night. Mrs. Maggie LeSeur was here for dinner to-day. I am staying in the store this afternoon.

 

May 17, Tuesday, I am milking Aunt Rachel Carroll's cow, begin yesterday evening. Mary went over to Lilly's this morning.

 

May 18, Wednesday, we washed to-day. I had to stay in the store this afternoon. Dewey came in to-night and we talked till eleven o'clock.

 

May 19, Thursday, we sure have been having nice weather this week. I ironed to-day, and helped scrub also stayed in the store about 2 1/2 hrs. I was at prayer meeting to-night. Dewey was in a few min. this evening. Him and some other fellows went fishing to-night.

 

May 20, 1921, Friday hot day, I went up to the cemetery with Vinnie Turner this morning. We went on up to the new oil rig. Wanda Leone and Clifton Carroll were with us. Dewey & Shirley came down with us. Mary came home this morning. Sylvia made me a white voile smock to-day. I expect I will go down to Mr. Ike Carr's this evening. I am tired. Must quit writing. I went down to Mr. Carr's this evening. I stopped at Aunt Jane Cutlip's and they phoned down to Mr. Carr's when I started and Bernice & Mabel came over half way to meet me. I sure had a fine time.

 

May 21, Saturday, lovely day, still at Mr. Carr's. We girls were out boat riding this morning.

 

May 22, Sunday, nice day, Bernice, Mabel & I came up home this morning. I sure had a nice time down there. I went to Sunday school and class meeting. Of course Dewey & Eddie were here this afternoon. We all went to church to-night. Mr. Tenney preached. Orvin Shamblin took Bernice Carr home from preaching to-night. Of course Eddie & Dewey came home with Mary & I.

 

May 23, Monday, nice day, Born about 6-20 this morning a 9 lb 11 oz girl to Mr. & Mrs. Harley Reeder. That makes me four nieces. I don't know who all was here to-day but there sure were lots of people. We have so much company that I don't try to keep in account of them.

 

May 24, Tues. rained last night and some to-day. Mother & I washed an awfully large washing to-day. father has been sick for several days he is some better now. Born to Mr. & Mrs. Minter Frame a girl, Born this morning some time. I was up to the grave yard with Nettie Hawkins this afternoon, Mrs. Roughner Stalnaker went with us.

 

May 25, Wednesday it rained some yesterday also to-day. Mary & I were at the Junior Lodge hall to-night. There were a lot more girls there besides us. We got peaches & cake to eat. We are to be in the march of flower girls Sunday.

 

May 26, Thursday, rained some to-day. I was at choir practice to-night. We also practiced last night at the church.

 

May 27, Friday, rained some to-day. I baked a cake to-day.

 

May 28, today is Mary's birthday. She is 19 yrs. old. Her and Arlou & Wanda Clare Hawkins went over to our farm to get some flowers for decoration. I ironed some to-day.

 

May 29, Sun. We girls all went to the lodge hall this morning and marched down to the Lower Rosedale Baptist church. I was captain of one group of girls. Mary & Bonnie Rollyson marched together. Hope Reeder & Arta Turner marched together. They were the only ones in my group. We went to the cemetery down there and then my four girls, myself & Uncle Will Carroll rode up to Rosedale in Dennis Perrine's car. We all, us five girls ate dinner at Uncle Will's. After dinner we went down to Mr. Rollyson's a little while. We met at the hall about two o'clock and marched out to the church. We also went up to the cemetery. It rained a good bit to-day. Bernice Carr was here a little while to-day. Of course Dewey & Eddie were here. Dewey & I went to the Rosedale Christian Endeavor Society to-night. Mary & Eddie didn't go. I sure have enjoyed myself to-day.

 

May 30, Monday. Shirley Turner is sick this morning, So Dewey isn't working to-day, as him & Shirley run tower together. Dewey was in the dining room several times to-day. A drummer, William Lawson by name was here for dinner also for supper to-day. Papa worked over at the farm to-day. I rode down to Mr. T. V. Shock's & back in Bill Lawson's car this evening.

 

May 31, Tuesday, lovely day, but hot. Dewey was in the dining room & kitchen a little while to-day.

 

June 1, Wed. hot day. I went with Vinnie up to the oil well to take Shirley's supper. We stayed a good while. It was dark before we got milking done.

 

June 2, Thursday. I stayed in the store and Mary went to prayer meeting as she was the leader. Papa has been working at the farm every day this week and he is always awfully tired of an evening.

 

June 3, Friday, I finished ironing to-day.

 

June 4, Saturday, cloudy most all day. I went to Mill Fork to singing to-night. Dan Beatty took me part of the way in his car. I went the rest of the way with the girls from Rosedale. Had a right nice time but, my stars, but I was tired when I got back. Eddie was here. Dewey came in a while after I got back. I think it was about one when he left.

 

June 5, Sunday. We went to Sunday school this morning. Dewey & Eddie came this afternoon and we took a walk down to the new school ground. We went to the Christian Endeavor Society to-night. Had a nice time.

 

June 6, Monday, nice day, Dewey was in a while this morning, Bernice Carr was here also.

 

June 7, Tuesday. Nice day. I am feeling awfully bad to-day. Mother & Mary are not feeling well either. Dewey came in from work sick this afternoon. Dewey came in a while this evening.

 

June 8, Wednesday. I am not feeling a bit well yet. Dewey came in a little while this morning. Uncle Ike Waggey was here for dinner Tuesday. He is my great uncle on papa's side.

 

June 9, Thursday, hot day, It was cloudy nearly all day yesterday. I was in at Vinnie's a little while yesterday evening. Okey Dobbins is seriously ill. We washed to-day. A Mr. Rollyson, a huxter, was here for dinner to-day. I wrote Raymond Conley & Lillie Smith each a letter this afternoon. I went to prayer meeting to-night.

 

June 10, Friday. I baked a cake this eve.. Ironed some this morning.

 

June 11, Saturday, cloudy. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night.

 

June 12, Sun. We went to preaching & Sunday school this morning. Georgie Pitsinger & five children were here for dinner. Of course Dewey & Eddie were here this afternoon, also came home with us from meeting. We went to preaching to-night. Rained hard this afternoon. The singing school on Mill Fork closed to-day.

 

June 13, Monday, we washed to-day. Dewey & Eddie were in a while to-night. It stormed & rained to-night.

 

June 14, Tuesday, Mother went over to Lilly's this morn. I scrubbed the dining room & kitchen this morn. I went almost to the head of Mill Fork with a bunch of people birch peeling. I went in the car with Dan Beatty. Mrs. Nettie Hawkins, Rolan & Gail Turner & Eddie Meadows were in the car with us. Shirley Turner, Vinnie, Suzan, & Bonnie were in Shirley's car. Orvin & Cramer Shamblin, Dewey Mace, & Mirrel Beatty were in Orvin's car. Dennis & Lucy, Ruth & Agnes Perrine, Wanda & Ariou Hawkins were in Dennis' car. So you c there was quite a bunch of us, Forest Wright was also along. I forget which car he was in. We sure had a fine time.

 

June 15, forgot to say Dewey was in a while this evening. He brought us in some oranges (Wednesday) I wed the onions this morning. Dewey, Orvin, Bernice Carr & I took a car ride this afternoon in Orvin's car. We went over to Perkins & back. Had a nice time. Mary & I went to Mill Fork and an up Burn's Fork a long ways to Glen Wright's this evening. I went in the car with Mirrel Beatty, Dewey was with me. Mary & Bernice Shamblin were in Orvin's car. They brought Glen & Pearl back with them. Dewey & Eddie & Orvin came in to-night & we played a few games of flinch. Orvin didn't stay long.

 

June 16, Thursday, nice day. There is a big day at Mill Fork to-day. A bunch from here at Rosedale went. Dewey was in the bunch. I am staying in the store this morning. Father isn't feeling well. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night. We didn't go to prayer meeting to-night. I didn't feel like going.

 

June 17, Friday, rained this afternoon. Dewey was in the dining room this morning.

 

June 18, Saturday, There was a horse sale here to-day. There was lots of people here in town to-day. Father started to Uncle Dow Conley's yesterday morning and hasn't come home yet. Morley Wright, Bonnie Rollyson, and Forest Wright and myself, took a car ride in Dennis Perrine's car this afternoon. Morley, Bonnie & I sit in the back seat. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night. It rained awfully hard this evening and to-night.

 

June 19, Sunday, nice day. We went to Sunday school this morning. We went car riding this afternoon. Dewey & I and Mabel & Ruby Carr went in Dennis Perrine's car, Mary, Eddie, Wanda Leone & Bernice Carr went in Orvin Shamblin's car. We went out on the hill at Henderson's & stopped and got out & sit in the shade a good while. John Upton, Shirley Turner & Ed Lynch were all there in their cars. We had a nice time. We went up Barn Run a little piece after we came back. We were at the Rosedale Christian Endeavor Society to-night. Of course Eddie & Dewey were here.

 

June 20, Monday nice day. I am staying in the store. Mother & Mary washed today. Father hasn't came home yet.

 

June 21, Tuesday. father came home this evening. Eddie & Dewey were in a few min. to-night.

 

June 22, Wed. I went over to Lilly's to-day. I stopped at Mr. Brady's a little while. Stopped at Mr. Tom Bean's for dinner. rained this afternoon.

 

June 23, Thursday rained some to-day. Okey Dobbins died to-day.

 

June 24. Friday. very hot. rained a little bit. Okey was buried this evening about five o'clock.

 

June 25, Saturday very hot day. I came home to-day. I ate dinner at Mr. Frymyer's. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night. The singing school begin out at the new school house on the hill by Dalton Reip's, to-night.

 

June 26, Sunday, hot day rained this afternoon. I went to Sunday school this morning. Dewey & I went to church to-night. The preacher's wife is sick so they didn't have preaching.

 

June 27, Monday, papa went over to the farm to work. Mr. C. N. Snodgrass is boarding here now. That is he eats his meals here. He begin boarding here (Saturday, June 25). It rained some to-day. Awfully hot. Singing school begins at the church to-night. Mr. Emery Rollyson is going to teach it, also the one on the hill.

 

June 28, Tuesday.

 

June 29, Wednesday. Was at singing last night. Dewey & Eddie came home with us. Was at singing to-night. Dewey & Eddie were here a little while.

 

June 30. Thursday, Was at singing to-night. Eddie & Dewey were here.

 

July 1, Friday, I baked a cake to-day. Mary baked one also. Was at singing to-night. Eddie & Dewey were here.

 

July 2, Saturday. I baked some pies to-day. Awfully hot weather. My cousin Lillie Smith, called in from Frametown for us to come after her. She is coming on a visit. Dewey got John Upton to go to Gassaway after her, we told her to go up there, as they could get there in a car easier than to Frametown. Dewey & I went with him. It was 20 min. till five when we started. We got there about 7. We went by way of Perkins, up on West Fork of steer creek and down Little Otter. Also passed Chapel. My cousin was at the Central hotel. Mr. Frank Adams is running the hotel. We ate our supper before we stated back. Dewy paid for my supper also. Cost him .50. He bought a lot of oranges and bananas but I was sick all the way back almost and didn't feel like eating any of them. But he left me one. We started from Gassaway about 8 o'clock got home between ten and eleven. I was so sick that Dewey helped me in the house and up stairs. I was sick all night.

 

July 3, Sunday awfully hot. I didn't go to Sunday school to-day, or to services this afternoon. Eddie, & Dewey were here most all day. We went to church to-night, that is Dewey & I did. Yes, the rest went also.

 

July 4, Monday, hot day. We were at church this morning, also this afternoon. Eddie & Mary didn't go this afternoon but Dewey & I did. Newton Boone was here to-day. Him & cousin Lillie talked awhile to-night. Dewey & I talked a little while. He helped me wash the dishes. Mary & Eddie talked in the store awhile. Gay, & May Nicholas were in the dining room a few min. today to get a drink of water. Dewey & I were in there so guess they came in to see Dewey for he used to go with both of them. Of course not both at once.

 

July 5, Tuesday. Mother & Mary washed to-day. John Upton charged 12 dollars for our trip to Gassaway. I paid $6 of it. Dewey paid the other six. Guess Lillie will pay me 3 dollars back. I guess there is singing again to-night. We were at singing. Dewey & Eddie came home with us. They, or at least I know Dewey worked to-day. Don't know if Eddie did or not.

 

July 6, Wednesday. hot day. Aunt Martha Stalnaker & Mrs. Meadows & Mrs. Lucinda Frymyer were here for dinner. Goldie Bennett and Uncle Billy Stalnaker were here awhile. I guess there will be singing to-night. July 6, Wed. We were at singing to-night, at least I was.

 

July 7, Thursday, we were at singing again to-night. The boys came home with us.

 

July 8, Friday, we were at singing again to-night. Dewey & Eddie went to Lockney one day this week, I believe it was to-day, if it was, it rained to-day.

 

July 9, Saturday, rained some to-day, we didn't go to singing to-night. Dewey & Eddie were here. It was after 12 o'clock when Dewey left.

 

July, 10, Sunday, Dewey was here a few min. this morning. Eddie & Dewey started to Lockney this morning to work. Oh, G, how lonesome it is without them. I was at Sunday school and preaching this morning. We, Lillie, Mary, Wanda Leone & I, took a car ride in Orvin Shamblin's car this afternoon. We were at preaching to-night. Oh, I am so lonely without Dewey for I love him dearly. He is so good and kind to me.

 

July 11, Monday, awfully hot. Mother, Lillie & I went up to Mr. Beatty's a little while to-night.

 

July 12, Tuesday, we were at singing to-night. There was a large crowd there.

 

July 13, Wednesday, well, Lillie started home to-day. She went in the mail hack. She paid me the full $6.00 that I paid out for the car. Wonie Stump and her three children, Hedge, Sarah, and Fannie, are here now. Dinner is ready and the rest are eating dinner. I am kinder hungry myself. cloudy, looks like rain. I am so anxious for Saturday to come. Dewey & Eddie came home to-day. They were here to-night. My but I was glad to see them. They have quit work down there. Weren't getting enough money to pay them to stay.

 

July 14, Thursday. We were at singing to-night. Singing closed to-night. The boys came home with us. Morley & Bonnie have made up again. rained to-day, I think it has rained every day this week.

 

July 15, Friday, rained some to-day. Mother went up to Mrs. Frymyer's. Will Frymyer was here for dinner. He was drinking. Mr. Reeder came over after Sylvia & the children. Harley came home this evening. Mr. & Mrs. Reeder & Ray were here to-night. They are going to start on a trip to-morrow to visit their children. I ironed to-day. Dewey was in a few min. twice to-day.

 

July 16, Saturday. I mixed the light bread to-day. I want to go out to the new school house to singing to-night. Well, we went to singing to-night. Dewey & I went in Dennis Perrine's car. Mary & Eddie went in Orvin Shamblin's car. We didn't go in the house for the house was so crowdy & it was such a hot night. It was a little after one o'clock when Dewey went home.

 

July 17, Sunday nice day, we, Mary & I, were at Sunday school. Mary, Eddie, Bernice, Ruby & Ollie Carr & Dewey & I went for a walk this afternoon. We took the Kodak & took some pictures. Of course Dewey & Eddie were here to-night. Father went over to sister Lilly's this morning.

 

July 18, Monday. We washed to-day, Dewey was in a few min.

 

July 19, Tuesday, Mother went up to Mrs. Frymyer's this morning to help her can some beets. It rained some to-day. There is to be quarterly meeting here to-day & to-night. We went to meeting to-night. Mr. J. Workman preached. He is the district supt.. They also ate the bread & drank the wine. Of course Eddie & Dewey took us to church and brought us back. There was a large crowd at preaching.

 

July 20, Wednesday. Nice morning, but awfully hot. Dewey was in a little while.

 

July 21, Thursday. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night.

 

July 22, Friday, I ironed to-day. Dewey was in a little while.

 

July 23, Saturday. Uncle Dave Chenowoth died to-day. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night.

 

July 24, Sunday, I was at Sunday school and class meeting this morning. Mother went up to Mr. Steward Wright's. Father went over to Mr. Andy Brady's. Mary & Eddie went with Orvin Shamblin car riding this afternoon. Dewey & I stayed at home and kept house. Dewey & I went car riding in Orvin's car & missed preaching. I hated that awfully bad, but I couldn't help it. Mary & Eddie went.

 

July 25, Monday. We washed to-day. Mr. William Lawson, the drummer was here for dinner. They got the road thro'. Dr. Bourns farm opened up to-day. I stayed in the store awhile this afternoon. I was over at Nettie Hawkin's awhile to-day. Mary Meadows, Nettie's sister was here a little while. Dewey brought me a pretty flower to-day. Uncle Rufus King & his son, Clifton King, were here Thursday, and till Friday afternoon. (July 21, 22).

 

July 26, Tuesday, Mary went over to Lilly's to-day. I have an awful cold. Dewey was in a few min. to-day.

 

July 27, Wednesday, my cold is a little better. This is awfully hot, dry weather. There is to be a birthday party at Mr. Clem Twymans to-night. Dewey was in a little while to-night.

 

July 28, Thursday, very hot, sultry day. I ironed this morning. They are putting a new roof on the church house. Dewey is helping. Mary came home this evening.

 

July 29, Friday, hot sultry morning. rained hard about noon. Grace Reip was here for dinner. I went to school to her one winter.

 

July 30, Saturday, hot day. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night.

 

July 31, Sunday, rained yesterday but is nice to-day. We went to Sunday school this morning. Eddie & Dewey were here this afternoon, also to-night. Mrs. Cam Rollyson & her little son, Bunt were here awhile this afternoon. We all went to preaching to-night. I mean, Mary, Eddie, Mother, Dewey & I.

 

Aug 1, Monday, hot day. We washed to-day. Mother went over to Sylvia's this evening.

 

Aug. 2, Tuesday. rained to-day. Dewey was in the dining room and talked to me awhile this afternoon. He helped put the roof on the church yesterday & to-day. Uncle Ike Waggy came to-day. Don't know how long he is going to stay.

 

Aug. 3, Wednesday, rainy day. I think it rained nearly all night last night. Mary ironed this morning. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night.

 

Aug. 4, Thursday. Mother came home from Lilly's this evening. I went to prayer meeting to-night. Dewey came back with me and stayed a little while.

Aug. 6, Saturday, rained to-day, been raining most all week. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night.

 

Aug. 7, Sunday, rained some. Dewey & Eddie, were here to-day also to-night. Dewey & I went down to the Rosedale Baptist church this afternoon to a Sunday school doings. We went down in Orvin Shamblin's car. Bernice & Mabel Carr went with us. We walked back. Irene & Madeline Wright came back with us. The Carr girls didn't come back with us. We were at Young People's meeting to-night.

 

Aug. 8, Monday, nice day. Mother went down to Aunt Martha's to help her can some tomatoes. Mary went down there this afternoon. Uncle Ike Waggy left this afternoon. G, but I am glad. Dewey is helping paint the church. Charley Watson died Thursday morning, Aug. 4, was buried here at Rosedale Aug. 5, Friday. Age 25 yr. He left a wife and little son a few months old.

 

Aug. 9, Tues. lovely day. Mr. George Keith's little baby is to be buried this afternoon up here at the Rosedale Cemetery. Mr. George Van Buren, Mr. Tilden Nicholas, and Mr. Digman & Mr. C. N. Snodgrass were here for dinner. Also Wanda & Rolan Hawkins. Mrs. Hawkins went up home to see her father. He is sick. Mother & I were at Aunt Julia Riders a little while yesterday evening. Dewey is helping to paint the church. He was in to see me a few min. yesterday evening & to-day. I am going over to sister Lilly's this eve. Am going to start in a little while. I stopped at Mrs. Frymyer's a few min. this evening.

 

Aug. 10, Wednesday, am at Lilly's. They are all well. I am feeling fine.

 

Aug. 11, Thursday. We were down at Lewis Wilson's a little while this afternoon. The threshing machine came this evening four o'clock. They got done about 20 min. after 8 o'clock. We, Lilly, I mean, had two for supper, Leroy & Grover Miller. They stayed all night.

 

Aug. 12, Friday, rained this morning. I came home this evening. I stayed at Dalton Reip's for dinner. I stopped a little while at Mrs. Frymyer's. Dewey came in a little while this evening. I am not feeling very well.

 

Aug. 13, Sat. cloudy, rained a little. They had a box supper at the church to-night. We didn't go. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night.

 

Aug. 14, Sunday, rainy day. We were at Sunday school & preaching this morning.  Dewey came home with me from church. Dewey & Eddie were here all afternoon.  We went to preaching to-night. Of course the boys went with us & came back with us.

 

Aug. 15, Monday, Mother and Mary washed to-day. Viola Robinson is going to stay here all night.

 

Aug. 16, Tuesday, rained some I saw Dewey a few min. this morning. I ironed a little to-day. Stayed in the store a while this afternoon.

 

Aug. 17, Wed. rainy, Mary is ironing. Dewey & Eddie were here a while to-night. William Lawson, the Charleston hardware drummer, is here to-night.

 

Aug. 18, Thursday, I went to prayer meeting to-night. Dewey came to the foot of the stairs with me.

 

Aug. 19, Friday. I ironed to-day. Father has been sick for a day or two.

Aug. 21, Sunday, nice morning. I went to Sunday school this morning. Sylvia & the children came over from Mr. Reeder's this morning. Mr. Reeder brought them. Harley will be here to-night. Dewey & Eddie came this afternoon. We went down to see the new school building. We went up to Eddie's home and got a mess of water melon & muskmelon. We, Dewey & I went to the Rosedale Christian endeavor. I was the leader.

 

Aug. 22, Monday. They washed to-day. I didn't help much for I had to stay in the store awhile. Mary went over to Lilly's this morning.

 

Aug. 23, Tuesday, Mother helped Mrs. White make pickle corn to-day. I was busy as a bee to-day.

 

Aug. 24, Wednesday, we canned 9 qts. of tomatoes to-day. Dewey brought me a nice bunch of flowers this afternoon. He came in awhile to-night.

 

Aug. 25, Thurs. Mary came home this morning. Eddie & Dewey started away this morning to try to find a job of work. I ironed this afternoon. This has been a nice week so far.

 

Aug. 26, Friday, I was at prayer meeting last night. Dewey & Eddie came home last night some time. They didn't find any work. It stormed & rained last night.

 

Aug. 27, Saturday. Mrs. C. N. Snodgrass came to town to-day. She will take her meals with us while she is here. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night.

 

Aug. 28, Sun. I went to Sunday school this morning, also stayed for class meeting. Dewey came home with me. Lilly, Birt, & the children came over this morning. They are going to start to Weston tomorrow to take Orel to the hospital to have him operated on for adenoids. Mother went over to Lilly's home to keep house for her. She went this evening. Dewey & Eddie were here this afternoon. Clarence Conley was here awhile this afternoon. We went to preaching to-night. That is, Eddie, Mary, Birt, Garnet, Dewey & I all went. Harley came home to-night.

 

Aug. 29, Monday. Well, they got start this morning in the mail hack.

 

Aug. 30, Tuesday. We washed to-day & made five gal. mangles. It rained awfully hard to-day.

 

Aug. 31, Wed. We washed to-day instead of yesterday, oh fiddle I forget which day it was we did the washing. Eddie was here to-night. Dewey was in a few min. to-day.

 

Sept. 1, Thurs. Dewey was in to see me to-night. I didn't go to prayer meeting to-night.

 

Sept. 2, Friday, another hot day. I canned half a gal. of pickles this morning.

Sept. 4, Sunday. Mary & I went to Sunday school. Dewey & Eddie came this afternoon. We didn't go to church to-night. Harley is here to-night.

Sept. 6, Tuesday, rained to-day. We washed to-day, Father is sick. Lilly & Birt & children came home to-day. They are at Uncle Billy's to-night.

 

Sept. 7, Wednesday, I went to Frametown this morning in Joe Twyman's car. His son, Carl, drove the car. Mrs. Lydia Marshall went with me. We went from there on to Gassaway. I stopped there & Mrs. Marshall went on to Sutton to get her teeth fixed. I went to Mr. Austin Long's. I got a tooth filled this afternoon. Mr. Maxwell filled it for me. Cost me a dollar. I am going to stay at Mr. Long's to-night.

 

Sept. 8, Thurs. I came down to Frametown an the six o'clock train this morning. I came part of the way home on a wagon. The horses were driven by Boyd Wright. Mr. Ed Lynch overtook us and I came on home in his car. Got home about noon. Dewey was here to-night. My, oh my, but I was tired when I got home.

 

Sept. 9, Friday, today is Mother's birthday. She is sixty years old.

 

Sept. 10, Saturday, Dewey is working to-night so he can't be here. I am staying with papa in the store. He isn't well yet.

 

Sept. 11, Sun. I was at Sunday school and preaching this morning. Mary was there also. It rained this morning. Dewey came home with me from meeting. He stayed till after five then went home and ate his supper and came back over. We went to preaching to-night. Mary & Eddie went also.

 

Sept. 12, Monday. Nice day, Sylvia & Mother washed to-day. Mary & I are not feeling well. Dewey bought a musk melon of Preacher Rose and brought it in to us. It was fine. Mrs. Lillie Wright was here awhile to-day, also Vinnie Turner, Nettie Hawkins, Wanda, & Arlou Hawkins, Suzan Turner, and Hattie Snodgrass. I expect I will go to Lilly's to-morrow.

 

Sept. 13, Tuesday, I went to Lilly's this morning. I saw Dewey in the store before I started. I stopped at Lewis Wilson's a little while as I went over.

 

Sept. 14, Wednesday. We had squirrel for breakfast. I helped pick a few beans this morning. We, Lilly & I strung beans all afternoon. Birt went squirrel hunting. Rained some to-night.

 

Sept. 15, Thursday, We had a fine mess of squirrels for breakfast. I came home this afternoon. Lilly made pickle beans to-day. I went to prayer meeting to-night. Dewey came in a while to-night. Claude and Beryl Wilson came to play Flinch to-night. Them & Sylvia & Mary played.

 

Sept. 16, Friday. Dewey was in a while to-day and helped string some beans. Mother & Mary went over to the farm & picked them this morning.

 

Sept. 17, Saturday, I ironed yesterday afternoon. Father hurt his back yesterday & can't stay in the store much. I stayed in the store till after eight o'clock, Then when Dewey came I closed the store, or rather he closed the door, & we came back in the dining room to talk. Eddie is here to-night.

 

Sept. 18, Sunday. Mary & I and Sylvia & the children went to Sunday school this morning. Dewey came over before we had dinner. Bertie Meadows & her two boys, Mirrel & Rex, were here a while. Sylvia & the children, Mary, Dewey & I went over to Mr. Charley Horn's this afternoon. Sylvia & the children had some pictures made & Dewey & I had some taken also. We went to the Rosedale Christian Endeavor Society to-night.

 

Sept. 19, Monday, Eddie didn't get to come to see Mary till last night for he had to work. We, Mary, Dewey & I went down to the Timothy Knob church to a funeral. Bonnie Rollyson went with us. We got as far as the bridge and found out they were not going to stop at the church with the corpse so we came on home. We went down to the new graded school building to a flag raising this afternoon. There sure was a large crowd there. Dewey went with me. Mr. & Mrs. Johnson Wright, Mona & Morley Wright, Goldie Bennett & her little girl, Hettie, & Leroy Miller were here for dinner. Dewey got our pictures to-day. They were very good.

 

Sept. 20, Tuesday, Dewey is working to-day. Mary has gone to Lilly's. Mother & Sylvia washed to-day.

 

Sept. 21, Wed. Mary brought a load of beans from Lilly's on Birt's horse to-day, then went back and is going to stay all night. Rained some to-day. Dewey came in a few min. to-day. Mary went to Birt's Tuesday. Came back to-day and Mother went over with Birt. Dewey & Eddie were here a little while to-night.

 

Sept. 22, Thursday, I fixed my sweet peppers partly to-night. I went to prayer meeting. Dewey was here a little while to-night. He came home with me from prayer meeting.

 

Sept. 23, Friday, I went down to Aunt Martha’s this evening. I am going to stay all night. Aunt Martha is sick. I have the sore throat.

 

Sept. 24, Saturday. I was at Cora Snodgrasse’s and at Mrs. Meadow’s a little while this morning. My throat is worse this morning. I came home this afternoon. Dewey was here to-night. So was Eddie.

 

Sept. 25, Sunday. I was at Sunday school this morning. Dewey & Eddie were here this afternoon. We went to preaching to-night.

 

Sept. 26, Monday, Mother came home yesterday. Father went over to Clarence Conley's awhile to-day. Harley came over Sat. night. He came over again to-night. Dewey was upstairs a few min. to-night to bring some pictures.

 

Sept. 27, Tuesday, rained some to-day, Price & Amy Vaughan were here for dinner to-day. Dewey & Eddie were here awhile to-night. I have had the sore throat awfully bad for a few days.

 

Sept. 28, Wed. Mother & Sylvia are washing this morning. Mary is staying in the store. Father is sick. My throat is some better. I do wish we could leave Rosedale. I see so much trouble.

 

Sept. 29, Thurs. I went to prayer meeting to-night. Dewey came to the foot of the stairs with me.

 

Sept. 30, Friday. It has been raining some this week but I don't remember what days.

 

Oct. 1, Sat. rained to-day. We went to the pie supper out here at the church to-night. They made up $150.00. Dewey got my box. He paid $5.00 for it. Mr. Cam Rollyson got Mary's box & gave it to his little boy, Earl. Dewey came home with me and we talked till after one o'clock. He is in trouble an account of talking too much. I don't know what it is going to amount to. Of course it troubles me.

 

Oct. 2, Sunday. We went to Sunday school to-day. Dewey & Eddie came this afternoon. We went to church to-night. It was young people's meeting. Bernice Carr was the leader.

 

Oct. 3, Mon. rainy day, I picked wool most all day.

 

Oct. 4, Tues. rained a good bit to-day. Sylvia & I put in a comfort for me. We didn't get it done. I saw Dewey a few min. in the dining room to-day. He is working on the well to-night.

 

Oct. 5, Wednesday, I finished my comfort to-day.

 

Oct. 6, Thursday, cold, Dewey came in to-night and we talked awhile.

 

Oct. 7, Friday, I went down to Aunt Martha's and helped her get dinner for the men who were building their porch.

 

Oct. 8, Saturday, cold, & rainy, I stayed in the store a good bit to-day. Eddie & Dewey were here to-night. Father isn't much better.

 

Oct. 9, Sun. nice day. I was at Sunday school this morning. Mr. Jim Shock's little daughter died about one o'clock yesterday morning. It was about two mo. old. Dewey & Eddie were here this afternoon & to-night. Eddie & Mary quit to-night.

Oct. 15, Saturday, nice day. They had a ball game here to-day, Rosedale and Frametown played. Rosedale beat. I stayed in the store this afternoon while Mary went to the ball game. Pat Snodgrass was drunk on hot drops to-day. He was in the dining room here a long time. Dewey was here to-night.

 

Oct. 16, Sun. We went to Sun. school this morning. Dewey was over here this afternoon. We went to young people's meeting to-night. Of course Dewey went with me and came back with me. Mrs. Minnie Wright gave birth to a fine big boy one day this past week. About Fri, I think.

 

Oct. 17, Monday. We washed to-day. Father is a good bit better. Clarence Conley was here for dinner. I don't feel very well. We are having nice weather now. It frosted Thurs. Wed. and Friday night. I think those are the nights. I have been milking Uncle Will Carroll's two cows for the last two weeks. My two wks. will be up to-morrow morning. I scrubbed the dining room & kitchen this afternoon.

 

Oct. 18, Tuesday. I went over to sister Lilly's to-day. I ate dinner at Icie Reeder's.

 

Oct. 19, Wednesday. It rained some yesterday evening and last night, cloudy day.

 

Oct. 20, Thursday. I am still at Lilly's. Cloudy & chilly weather.

 

Oct. 21, Fri. Nice day, I came home to-day. Dewey was here a little while to-night. Eddie was here also. Mary & him made up again to-night.

Oct. 23, Sunday, nice day. I was at Sunday school & class meeting this morning. Dewey was here this afternoon and to-night. Eddie was here also. I didn't go to preaching to-night. I was out at the preacher's a little while Sat. morning. His wife is sick. Mother went out there to stay till Monday.

 

Oct. 24, Monday. I am going out to the preacher's in a little while to stay and let Mother come home. This is a beautiful morning. Sylvia & Mary are washing. Mother & I washed at the preacher's this morning.

 

Oct. 25, Tues. I am still at the preacher's. I was out home a few min. this afternoon.

 

Oct. 26, Wednesday. Mrs. Tenney is some better.

 

Oct. 27, The preacher went to prayer meeting to-night as this is Thursday.

 

Oct. 28, Friday, Mary & cousin Nella Conley were out here a little while yesterday evening. Nella is staying with Clarence now. I was out home long enough to get a clean dress this afternoon.

 

Oct. 29, Saturday, nice day. I went home to-day as my week is up at the preacher's. Mrs. Tenney is able to do her work now. They paid me three dollars. I gave Mother a dollar of it. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night.

 

Oct. 30, Sunday, rained some last night and this morning. We, Mary & I went to Sunday school and preaching this morning. Dewey was there for preaching. Eddie was there also. Roughner Stalnaker & his wife, Cora, were baptised out here in the creek after preaching. Of course we went to see them baptised. Eddie & Dewey were here this afternoon & to-night. Dewey and I went to young people's meeting to-night.

 

Oct. 31, Monday, It rained some last night. Dewey was in a few min. to-day.

 

Nov. 1, Tuesday, I think it rained some to-day. We washed this morning. Dewey & I and Mary & Eddie went down to the new school building to a reading circle society. It rained hard to-night. We stopped in at Aunt Jane Cutlip's to-night.

 

Nov. 2, Wed. Dewey was in the dining room a few min. to-day.

 

Nov. 3, Thurs. Mary & Eddie, Dewey & I went out to the Three Forks school house to a negro show to-night. The boys hired John Upton to take us out there & back. There were nine negroes. Admittance was 25 ct.

 

Nov. 4, Friday, frosty morning, nice day but cool. Mother went over to Lilly's last evening. I haven't been feeling well this week. Dewey was in a few min. to-night.

 

Nov. 5, Saturday. I ironed a big ironing to-day. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night. Mother came home from Lilly's this morning.

Nov. 7, Monday, I have an awfully bad cold. Dewey was in the dining room a few min. to-night. I am getting sleepy and am going to bed in a few minutes.

Nov. 11, Friday, cold day. It snowed one or two days this week but I don't remember what days. It was our first snow.

 

Nov. 12, Saturday, Forgot to say, Dewey was in a few min. yesterday evening. He was here to-night also. Eddie was here to see Mary.

 

Nov. 13, Sunday I was at Sunday school this morning. Dewey was there to come home with me. He didn't come till after Sunday school. There was supposed to be preaching but they were electing new officers for the Sunday school and it took up so much time that the preacher didn't preach. Dewey came home with me and stayed till after four o'clock. Then came back about 6:30 and went to preaching with me and back. We took Wanda Leone to meeting with us.

 

Nov. 14, Monday, dark, gloomy day. Rained some.

 

Nov. 15, Tuesday. Muddy & chilly. I am nursing Arlie Maxine and can't write very good. She is asleep. Mother is washing out at the preacher's. Mary, Eddie, Dewey & I went down to the school house to-night to the reading circle society. Bill Lawson the drummer was here to-night.

 

Nov. 16, Wed. We washed to-day. Dewey was in the dining room a little while to-night.

 

Nov. 17, Thurs. It has been rainy most all week. They had prayer meeting to-night, but I wasn't there. Dewey was in the dining room a little while to-night.

 

Nov. 18, Friday. Viola Robinson stayed here last night. Dewey came in the dining room to-night and we talked a few min.

 

Nov. 19, Saturday, I was at Mr. Ed Lynch's a little while yesterday afternoon. Also ate supper at Mr. Worth Harmon's. Savanah Harmon & I had to go up Mill Fork a good piece to get my cow and the preacher's. It is raining to-day. I ironed this morning. Mother is getting dinner. Dewey & Eddie were here tonight

 

Nov. 20, Sunday. We were at Sunday school this morning. Eddie and Dewey were here this afternoon. Dewey & I went to the Christian Endeavor to-night.

Nov. 23, Wed. rained some to-day. I don't remember whether it rained any more this week or not. Clarence & Nell. R came over to-day. Clarence went back home but Nella stayed. Clarence has a boy baby now. I don't know exactly how old it is about two weeks old I think. Dewey and Tom Boggs came in to-night and we played some flinch. Then Tom left and the rest, or rather, Dewey, Nella, Papa and Mary, played set back. I don't know how to play.

 

Nov. 24, Thursday, Thanksgiving day. rainy day. Tom Boggs and Dewey came up this morning and the rest of them besides myself played flinch. No, I believe it was set back. Tom stayed for dinner. Tom stayed & talked to Nella all the afternoon. Dewey & Eddie came in & went over to church to the Thanksgiving service with Mary & I this afternoon. It didn't amount to very much. We went over to church to-night to a social. Mary nor I didn't take any box. Nella took one tho'.

 

fixed it for her. Dan Beatty got her box, it came to six dollars the highest of any there. Dan also brought her home. Dewey and Eddie left about 11:30. I think it was between four & five this morning when Dan left.

 

Nov. 25, Friday. Nice day. Forgot to say they made up $108.25 last night at the social. It was to pay on the new school building. Eddie & his cousin, Kenneth Downey were here awhile this morning. Also Dewey. We played three games of flinch. Dan, Dewey, & Eddie came in this afternoon and we all went a piece with Nella. I suppose Dan went all the way. Harley is here now. Mr. Reeder brought a load of fodder for us this evening.

 

Nov. 27, Sat. rained to-day. Harley, Eddie, & Dewey went squirrel hunting to-day. The boys came in this evening. Russell & Marie Conley and their little son, Donald Wade, age 6 mo. came this evening.

 

Nov. 27, Sun. rainy day, Dewey & Eddie came this afternoon, also to-night. We didn't go to Sunday school. The boys came to-night also. Russell & family are still here.

 

Nov. 28, Monday, rainy day. The creek is up a good bit.

 

Nov. 29, Tuesday, nice day. Russell's baby is sick. They had the doctor to come over and see him. Eddie & Mary went down to the school house to the reading circle. Dewey came in and stayed with me till they came back. Russell and Harley went squirrel hunting to-day. They killed five squirrels. Dewey & Harley skinned them. Dewey brought me two rabbits this morning.

 

Nov. 30, Wed. nice day. I don't feel very well. Russell's baby isn't much, if any better. Dewey is working on an oil well to-day. We went to the school house to the farmer's meeting to-night. Dewey just came to the door with me as it was getting late when we got back.

 

Dec. 1, Thursday. Nice day. Russell and family started home this morning. The baby is some better. Clarence was here a little while. Birt Wilson was here a little while also. Dewey and I went to prayer meeting to-night.

 

Dec. 2, Friday, rainy most all day. Ralph Conley was here for dinner to-day. He came up after Nella. Ralph went on over to Clarence's right after dinner. Dewey was in the dining room a little while.

 

Dec. 3, Saturday, nice day, rather chilly. Dewey and Eddie were here to-night.

 

Dec. 4, Sunday, we were at Sunday school this morning. Dewey & Eddie were here this afternoon and to-night.

 

Dec. 5, Mon. snowy day. Dewey was here a few min. to-day. Mary went down to Uncle Billy's to-night. Uncle Billy went over to Birt's this morning but came back this evening.

 

Dec. 6, Tuesday. I started to Lilly's this morning. Cold morning. I stopped at Clarence Conley's for dinner. Clarence went over above the Tanner school house with me.

 

Dec. 7, Wed. nice day. The protracted meeting begins at the Three Forks school house, out on the hill at Dalton Reip's, to-night.

 

Dec. 8, Thurs. rained to-day, Lilly & I and the children were down at Gay's yesterday. Uncle Billy came over this evening to help kill hogs to-morrow. snowed a little bit this evening.

 

Dec. 9, Friday. Nice day. Uncle Billy went home this afternoon. Lilly and I made the sausage to-night.

 

Dec. 10, nice day, but awfully cold frosty morning. Yesterday was Harley's birthday. He was 27 yrs. old. To-day is Saturday. I came home to-day. I stopped at Dalton Reip's a little while this morning. Got home about noon. Dewey came in a little while right after dinner. Of course him and Eddie were here to-night.

 

Dec. 11, Sunday, nice day. We, Mary and I went to Sunday school this morning.

Dewey and Eddie were here this afternoon and to-night. Dewey and I and Wanda Leone took a walk down the walk this afternoon.

 

Dec. 12, Monday, rained last night and this morning a little while. Russell Conley and Harley were here for dinner. Harley is here now. Uncle Billy came up a little while ago and said Aunt Martha was sick. I will have to go down there in a little while and stay all night.

 

Dec. 13, Tues. I came home this eve.. Mary went down to stay with Aunt Martha to-night. Dewey was in here a while to-night.

 

Dec. 14, Wed. To-day is Sylvia's birthday. She is 28 years old. I will have to go down and stay with Aunt Martha to-night. Dewey was in the dining room a little while. He is going out to the Three Forks school house to meeting to-night.

 

Dec. 15, Thurs. I came home about three o'clock to-day. It has been rainy off and on most all week. Awfully muddy. They are having a good meeting on the hill. I was at Mrs. Meadow's a little while this morning. To-day is Birt's birthday. I guess he is 35 years old. Dewey & Eddie were here awhile to-night. To-day has been a nice day.

 

Dec. 16, Friday, nice day. I went out on the hill at the Three Forks school house to meeting to-night. It was almost dark when I got there. I stopped at Cleo Reip's a little while. Harley was at meeting. Dewey came out to meeting also. I left a note telling him where I had went. I went down to Harley's parents home to stay all night. Harley and Dewey went with me. Then they came over to Rosedale. Dewey gave me my lavaliere to-night, that he got me for Christmas. He has the headache awfully bad to-night.

 

Dec. 17, Saturday. Icie & Hope came down to Mrs. Reeder's this afternoon. Harley came over home this morning. I started over home about half past three o'clock. It rained some this evening and stormed and rained some to-night. Dewey & Eddie came to-night.

 

Dec. 18, Sunday, nice day. To-day is my birthday. I am 26 years old. I was at Sunday school this morning. Dewey and Eddie were here this afternoon and to-night.

 

Dec. 19, Monday. Nice day. We washed to-day. I saw Dewey a few min. to-night.

 

Dec. 20, Tuesday, nice day, frosty, cold morning. Aunt Tuda Carroll was here awhile to-day, and several other people but we have so much company that I don't try to name them. Mrs. Harmon & Savanah are here now.. Harley was here a little while.

 

Dec. 21, Wed. I saw Dewey a little while last night, also to-night.

 

Dec. 22, Thursday. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night. It has been rainy almost all week. The mailman didn't go to-day for the creek was so deep he couldn't cross it.

 

Dec. 23, Friday, still rainy. The mail didn't go to-day. Dewey was in the dining room a few min. to-day. Mother has been real sick but is better now. Birt was here yesterday I think it was or day before.

 

Dec. 24, Saturday, rainy most all day. Mary, Eddie, Sylvia, Maxine, &Wanda, Dewey & I went to the church to the Christmas tree. Dewey isn't a bit well to-night. I got a doz. of hairpins off the Christmas tree. Dewey got them for me. He also got me a lavaliere, and a handkerchief, and two oranges. We also had to pay a quarter apiece to get in the church to-night. Of course he paid my way. Mary made me a centerpiece for a Christmas present. Sylvia gave me the goods for a centerpiece. Mother is going to give me a pair of pillow cases. Eddie gave me a handkerchief. The Christmas program was fine. I gave Dewey two handkerchiefs with his initials an them.

 

Dec. 25, Sunday, Christmas day. I was at Sunday school this morning. Eddie was here for dinner. Mary and him went down to his home. They ate supper down there. Dewey came over this afternoon. He is feeling awfully bad to-day. It snowed some to-day. Dewey and Eddie were here to-night also.

 

Dec. 26, Monday, nice day. Dewey was in the dining room a few min. to-night. I stayed in the store this afternoon.

 

Dec. 27, Tuesday, I had the headache awfully bad yesterday. Nice morning. Nettie Hawkins and Rolan are here now. Mary, Eddie, Dewey & I went down to the school house to the reading circle to-night. We talked a while after we came back.

Dec. 29, Thursday. Cold day, snowed just a little. We washed to-day. I got to talk to Dewey a few min. in the kitchen to-night. Mary Meadows, Arlou & Wanda Hawkins & I went over to church but they didn't have prayer meeting.

 

Dec. 30, Friday. nice day. I stayed in the store this afternoon. I saw Dewey a few min. to-night.

 

Dec. 31, Saturday, rather cold and windy. I ironed some to-day. I don't feel very well. Mary, Wanda & Arlou were here a while to-day. Dewey and Eddie were here to-night.

 

January 1, 1922, Sun. cold snowy morning. Dewey and I went down to the Rosedale Baptist church to preaching. Mr. Lyda Harvey preached. Dewey was here nearly all day, and was here awhile to-night.

 

Jan. 2, Monday, cold day, still snowy. I saw Dewey a little while to-night. Mother stayed out at the preacher's to-night. Alma, his oldest child is sick.

 

Jan. 3, Tues. I saw Dewey a few min.

 

Jan. 4, Wed. rained some to-day. I stayed in the store a good while to-day. Dewey & I went down to the school house to the reading circle last night.

 

Jan. 5, Thurs. To-day is the town election. I didn't vote. Mother voted. Father is sick. He is broke down in his back. I saw Dewey a few min. to-night in the store.

 

Jan. 6, Friday, I stayed in the store some to-day. I talked to Dewey a little while in the dining room to-night.

 

Jan. 7, Saturday, frosty morning. I ironed some to-day. Dewey & Eddie were here to-night. George Miller & Frances Vannoy were here to-night. They are going to stay all night.

 

Jan. 8, Sunday. Mary and I and Wanda went to Sunday school and preaching this morning. Sylvia & baby came in time for preaching. Dewey was there for preaching also. He came home with me. It rained some to-day. Eddie started to Wolf Creek this morning. Dewey was here this afternoon & to-night. We didn't get to go to preaching.

 

Jan. 9, Monday. Nice sunshiny morning. I am not feeling well to-day.
