Jan.
10, 1922, Tuesday nice day. Today is father's birthday. He is 59 years old. I
saw Dewey a little while last night. He and I went down to the schoolhouse to
the reading circle to-night. We were at Uncle Billy's a little while.
Jan.
11, Wed. snowy day. I am staying in the store this afternoon. Mary is at Aunt
Martha's. Harley came home Monday night. I saw Dewey a few min. to-night.
Jan.
12, Thursday. still some snow. Don't remember whether it snowed to-day or not.
I saw Dewey a little while to-day.
Jan.
13, Friday. Dewey helped make some sausage here this afternoon. I have the
headache to-day.

14, Saturday, still some snow. Cold also. I ironed some to-day. Dewey came to
talk to me to-night.
Jan.
15, Sun. Beautiful sunshiny day. A good bit of the snow melted to-day. Aunt
Julia Rider was here for dinner. We were at Sunday school this morning, Mary,
Sylvia, Maxine, Wanda & I. Dewey was here this afternoon also to-night. We
went to the Rosedale Christian Endeavor Society to-night.

16, Monday, cold morning, snow going fast. I saw Dewey a few min. to-night in
the dining room.

17, Tuesday, rather cold day. We washed to-day. Dewey was in the dining room a
little while this morning. Birt came over to mill this morning. He was here for
dinner. I went home with him. I rode his horse. He walked.

18, Wed. rained to-day.
Jan.
19, Thursday rained some to-day. I was down at Gay's a little while this
afternoon. Saw her little wee baby. It weighs 5 lb. It is a girl. I don't know
exactly how old it is. Clara Digman is staying with her.
Jan.
20, Friday, muddy, rained some this evening. Lilly baked a cake and some mince
pies yesterday. They were fine. My, but I have a good sister Lilly. Orel,
Garnet and Macel are sweet little children. I came home to-day. Stopped at my
cousin, Clarence Conley’s a little while. They call their baby Arlos Claude. He
was born (Nov. 8, 1921). He is real pretty now. I am awfully tired this
evening.

21, Saturday, rained some to-day. Eddie came
home to-day from Wolf Creek where he has been working. He is going back
Monday. Vernetta Frame, her little son, Clifford and Osa Minney were here
to-day on a visit. I ironed some to-day. I sure feel awfully bad now. Dewey and
Eddie were here to-night.

22, Sunday, nice day. Mother went over to Lilly's this morning. Sylvia, Wanda,
Maxine & I went to Sunday school. Eddie & Dewey were here this
afternoon and to-night. I still feel bad.

23, Mon. cold frosty morning, ground is frozen hard. I saw Dewey a few min.
this morning. Maxine is 8 months old to-day.
Jan.
24, Tuesday, cold, frosty, ground still frozen hard. To-day is my sister Murl’s
birthday. She would of been 31 years old. I got to talk to Dewey a little while
to-night. About 3/4 of an hour. Birt was over yesterday.

25, Wed. cold, and frosty. Sun is shining nice now. Got to talk to Dewey in the
store a little while this morning. I am feeling very well now. We have had our
dinner now. Mary has gone down to Mrs. Meadows. It is 20 min. till 2 o'clock.
Mother came home this evening.

26, Thursday, cold day. I saw Dewey a few min. to-day. We washed this morning.

27, Friday I saw Dewey a few min.. George Miller has been boarding here the
last day or two.
Jan.
28, Saturday. It isn't so cold to-day as it has been. I ironed a little this
afternoon. I saw Dewey a few min. in the kitchen this morning. Mrs. Bitha Upton
and her little girl Lelah, Bertie Meadows, Mrs. Harmon & Savanah are here
now. I am not feeling very well now. Have the headache. Dewey was here
to-night.

29, Sunday, cold day. Howard Barton and Mr. Bishop were here this morning. Mrs.
Losie Barton died last night about ten o'clock. Dewey and I and Mary went to
the funeral this evening. They buried her in the Timothy Knob graveyard. She
was 26 years old, seven months, and a few days I think it was. Dewey came in
and stayed a while to-night. I was at Sunday school this morning. Wanda Leone
went with me.

30, Monday, cold day. I saw Dewey a few min. to-night.
Jan.
31, Tuesday. We washed to-day and put Sylvia's comfort in this morning. Saw
Dewey a few min. to-day.
Feb.
1, Wednesday. We worked on Sylvia's comfort to-day. I had to stay in the store
nearly all afternoon. I saw Dewey a few min. to-night.
Feb.
2, Thursday. (Ground hog day) I got up with the headache this morning and sick
at my stomach. Young George Miller stayed here last night. I have been in bed
most all day. Dewey came up to see me a while to-night.

3, Friday, cold wind but sunshiny. Yesterday was a nice day also. Dewey is
working on the pipe line now. He worked on it yesterday & to-day. Mary & Sylvia & baby Maxine
went over to Howard Barton's to buy some of his household furniture. They ate
dinner at Ofey Barton's. Sylvia bought $65.00 worth of goods. I have an awful
day of suffering. Poor old Mother had all the work to do and wait on me to.
Dewey came up to see me this morning before he went to work. He came up to see
me a little while to-night.
Feb.
4, Saturday, I got worse this morning. The Dr. was here to see me this
afternoon. That makes twice he has been to see me since I have been sick. Dewey
came up a while to-night. I sit up a little while and talked to him.

5, Sunday, rather nice day. Sylvia and Mother & Wanda went over to Mr. Judd
Pitsinger's this afternoon. Mary and Wanda went to Sunday school this morning.
Dewey came up and stayed till noon with me. Then he came back this afternoon
and stayed till after five. Sylvia and Wanda went to the Christian Endeavor
to-night.

6, Monday. I don't feel well yet by a whole lot. They washed this morning.
Eddie Meadows came home this morning or last night, I don't know which. Birt
Wilson was here all night last Friday night. Warm & cloudy, think it rained
some to-day. Dinner is ready now guess I will have to try to eat a little.

7, Tuesday, I believe it snowed some last night. I am feeling better now. The
protracted meeting begins over at the church to-night. Sylvia and Wanda went
over.

8, Wed. snowy day, Eddie was here most all morning. Was also here a while
to-night. Sylvia and Wanda went over to meeting this morning and to-night.
Dewey came upstairs and stayed a little while.

9, Thursday, snowed a little to-day. I feel better to-day. I saw Dewey in the
dining room a little while to-day. Wanda and Sylvia went over to meeting this
afternoon. I crocheted some to-day.

10, Friday, I don't feel quite so well to-day. Sylvia & Wanda went over to
meeting to-day and to-night. I saw Dewey a little while in the dining room
to-day.

11, Saturday, Harley came home to-night. Dewey and I talked to-night. Mary and
Eddie talked also. Siller Dobbins and her little girl Inez are going to be here
to-night.

12, Sunday, it stormed and rained some last night. Mother, Sylvia, baby, and
Wanda, Dewey and I and Siller and Inez all went to meeting this morning. Dewey
came back this afternoon and again to-night. Sylvia & Wanda went to church
to-night. Rained some to-night.

13, Monday, nice day. Dewey started to Glenville to-day. I went to meeting this
afternoon. Sylvia & Wanda went also. I went to meeting to-night to. Sylvia
& Wanda were there to.

14, Tuesday, Harley and Eddie started back to Wolf Creek this afternoon to
work. Mary went over to Lilly's this morning. I went to meeting this afternoon,
also to-night. Sylvia and Wanda were not there I don't believe. I almost
forget.

15, Wed. rained and snowed last night. Dewey came home last night. Mother and
Sylvia washed this morning. Dewey came in and stayed a good bit this morning. I
was at meeting this afternoon. Dewey was there and came home with me. We had a
fine meeting to-day. Dewey came in and went to meeting with me to-night, also
came back with me and we talked a while.

16, Thurs. ,snowed some last night, awfully cold morning, ground is frozen
hard. Dewey & I, Sylvia & children went to meeting this afternoon. Has
been awfully cold all day. Dewey and I went to meeting to-night. The greatest
desire of my life is to see him become a Christian.

17, Friday, awfully cold day. I ironed some this morning. Mother and Sylvia are
getting dinner. Mary just now came home from Lilly's. Dewey and I went to
meeting to-night.

18, Saturday I stayed in the store most of the day. Sylvia and Wanda went to
meeting to-night. Dewey and I didn't go, we talked.

19, Sunday. It rained last night. Warm and cloudy to-day. Mary and I were over
at Sunday school, also Wanda, Sylvia and baby and Dewey came over for meeting.
Had a fine meeting last night and to-day. Dewey is here this afternoon. We,
Dewey, Mary and I were at meeting to-night. It is one year ago to-night since
Dewey and I began going together. We certainly are having a fine meeting.
Feb.
20, Monday, we were at meeting this afternoon. Had a good meeting. Sylvia
Wanda, Maxine, Mother and I were all there also Dewey. We, Mary, Dewey, and I
were at meeting to-night. Oh, joy, Dewey went forward to-night. Calvin Dobbins
and a Hall boy were converted at the church to-night. Dewey came home with me
and thanks be to God, was converted in the kitchen. I never saw anyone any
happier in my life. Oh, I am so glad, so glad.

21, Tues. We went to meeting to-day, Dewey and I and Mary. My darling stood up
for Jesus. I am so glad that he is a Christian. May God strengthen him &
keep him faithful. We three went to meeting to-night. Had a good meeting. Pat
Snodgrass was converted to-night.
Feb.
22, Wednesday, lovely day. I forgot to say that Aunt Martha and Uncle Billy
were here for dinner yesterday. Aunt Martha was at meeting. Mary and Mother
washed to-day. I got dinner. I feel awfully bad to-day. Mother and I are going
to meeting this afternoon. Dewey is working on the sawmill. He feels awfully
bad to. Mary, Dewey, & I went to meeting to-night. There were 33
conversions, so the preacher said. Dewey came in and stayed a little while.

23, Thursday, rained a little to day. Mr. Jim Carroll was baptized this
afternoon. Dewey and I were there. There was a large crowd there.

24, Friday, rained a little this morning. I think Sylvia is moving out on the
hill to their farm. Mr. Bill Snodgrass moved a load for her to-day. She and the
children and Mother went out there
this afternoon. Dewey came in & stayed a little while to-night.

25, Saturday, cold frosty morning. We got the word to-day that sister Lilly's
family and herself are sick. They think it is the "flu". Mother went
from Sylvia's on over there. Dewey came in to-night. Eddie came also. He came
in from Wolf Creek to-day. Don't guess he is going back up there. George Miller will be here all night.

26, Sunday, Mary, and I went to
Sunday school this morning. Dewey came in before it was over and came home with
me. He came over this afternoon also to-night. Eddie was here also. It rained some to-night.

27, Mon. rainy morning. I would like awfully well to hear from Lilly's and
Sylvia's. Dewey came in a while to-night.

28, Tuesday. Dewey went to Sutton to-day
to get our marriage license.

1, Wed. Rainy and snowy morning. Dewey came back this morning. He brought me an
orange. He got our license all right. He stayed a while to-night.

2, Thursday. Mary took the flu to-day, forgot to say Mary and I washed
yesterday and washed some wool. Dewey came in a while to-day and to-night.
Father has the flu also and I have all the work to do except what Dewey does to
help me.

3, Friday, cloudy rainy part of the time. Dewey got Mr. Snodgrasse’s horse and
went over to Birt's this morning. He came over here to-night.

4, Saturday, rained some and snowed some to-day. Dewey and I went out to the
preacher's this morning and were married by Rev. A. L. Tenney about 10:25, as
near as I remember. Mother came home this afternoon.

5, Sunday, nice day, sunshiny. Forgot to say Eddie was here a little while
to-day and yesterday. We stayed at home-all day to-day. Nearly everyone in town
has the flu or has just got over it.

6, Mon. nice day. Dewey is working this afternoon. I am still doing most of the
work. Well, I will have to go and get some water and churn before supper time.

7, Tuesday. They are all getting better of the flu.

8, Wed. It has been bad weather this week most all the time.

10, Friday, I sure do love my husband. I am as happy as anyone can reasonably
be.

11, Saturday. I had to stay in the store a while this evening. Dewey has been
working nearly all week. Eddie came to see Mary to-night.

12, Sunday, nice day. Dewey and I went Out to Sylvia's this morning. We had a
nice visit. Eddie was here to-day and to-night a while.

13, Monday, lovely day. We washed this morning. I did most of it. Mother helped
some and Dewey carried the water. He started to Sutton this afternoon after
Mary’s and Eddie’s license and also to look for us a place to live. I sure will
miss my darling while he is gone.

14, Tuesday, rainy morning, nice afternoon. I ironed some to-day. Oh, how
lonesome I am without my husband. I miss him so much.

15, Wednesday, rainy morning. Dewey came home this morning. Oh, how glad I was
to see him.

17, Friday. I stayed in the store a while to-day. Father isn't a bit well.
Dewey and I went down to Aunt Martha’s after two pillows that she sold us. We
paid her $2.57 for them. Eddie came home this evening. He came up to see Mary.
March
18, Saturday, cloudy day. I stayed in the store a good while to-day. Mr.
Hawkins, Wanda, Arlou, Rolan and Mary Meadows came over this afternoon. Mary
& Eddie were married this afternoon about 2.30. Preacher Tenney came out
& married them. The serenaders came to-night. Dewey & I and Eddie and
Mary all went down in the store & Dewey and Eddie bought a dollars worth of
candy and treated them. They didn't serenade very long.

19, Sunday, cloudy. Mary & Eddie went down to see his mother this morning.
Dewey and I went up to Mrs. Frymyer's this morning and stayed till this
evening. We had a nice visit. Eddie and Dewey went back to the West Fork to
work. Eddie has been working over there for quite a while. Dewey went over with
him this evening to see if he could get him a job. My! how lonesome it is
without my darling. It is awfully dark and cloudy this evening, looks like
it-is going to rain. Well, I must quit scribbling in this book and write a few
lines to sister Lilly.

20, Monday, rain & snow. We washed to-day. Mother & Mary helped me put
in my quilt. Mother helped me to quilt some.

21, Tuesday, snowy day. Mother I are quilting to-day. G, but I feel tough.

22, Wed. Mother & I quilted some again to-day. My husband came home this
morning after his gum shoes and Eddie's gum boots. He went back this evening.
My, how I hated to see him leave again. I sure do love my darling. I have an
awfully bad cold. I dreamed of Dewey last night.

23, Thursday, nice day. It snowed some yesterday. Mother & I quilted some
more to-day. I sure have been feeling bad since Tuesday morning. Harley stayed
here last night and night before last. He was working double time at the lamp
black factory. Well, it is about eight o’clock or about eight, I don't know
which, so I am going to bed.

24, Friday. Mother and I quilted some to-day. I went over to Oscar Hawkins a
while this afternoon.

25, Saturday, nice day. I went out to Sylvia's this morning. We went and picked
a mess of greens this morning. Eddie & Dewey came along by Sylvia's about
three o'clock or near that time. Eddie came an over home and Dewey and I stayed
and ate supper with Sylvia. It was almost dark when we got home this evening.
My, but I am tired. Sylvia gave us a knife & fork.

26, Sunday, nice day. Dewey and I went over to Mr. Nath Shamblin's a little
while this morning and listened to the Victrola. Mary and Eddie went out to
Sylvia's this afternoon. Mary is going to stay all night and Eddie is going on
to the West Fork to work. Dewey and I went to meeting to-night.

27, Monday, rainy nearly all day. Dewey & I went over to Lilly's this
afternoon. We stopped at Sylvia's a little while to tell Mary that Mother said
for her to come on home to help her while I was gone. We stopped a few minutes
at Mr. Andy Brady's to shelter from the rain.

28, Tuesday. We are having a nice visit at Lilly's. Dewey & I went down to
Gay's a little while this morning and listened to their phonograph. Orel and
Garnet went with us. Rained some to-day I think, I would not be sure.

29, Wednesday, nice day. Dewey and I started home this morning. Lilly gave me a
beautiful glass dish. It cost 65 ct. We stopped at Sylvia's for dinner. We also stopped a few min. at Mrs. Frymyer's
to get us a drink of water. We got home about four o'clock. I am pretty tired.

30, Thursday, cool morning. Dewey & I started to Frametown this morning. I
went in Mr. Worth Harmon's wagon and Dewey walked most of the way. Mr. Harmon
didn't charge anything for me going over in his wagon. We ate supper at Mr.
Henry Fergerson’s; cost us 80 ct. We got on the evening train due 5:52, I
believe it was, arrived at Buckhannon at 9 o'clock. Rained some to-night. We
got in a taxi and went to the Buckhannon hotel, cost us fifty cents. Our
night's lodging and breakfast cost us $3.00.

31, Fri. We went up to Uncle Ira Lawson’s this morning. They live on College
Ave. Aunt Ella is sick, so we went to William O. Hinkle’s. He married my first
cousin. They live on Florida St. We ate dinner there and went out to Uncle
Ira's and he went to the real estate office with us. The real estate men's
names are Brown & Trippet. It hailed to-day. It is certainly awfully cold.
We stayed at William's to-night.
April
1, Saturday, cold. We were at Uncle Ira's again to-day. We ate dinner at Mrs.
Miles. We went on the evening train from Buckhannon to Alexander. We went to
Charlie Lewis’. He married my first cousin. Her name is Della. We were awfully
tired to-night.

2, Sunday, nice day, but cold. Dewey and I took a walk through the town this
morning. After we came back Charley and Della went with us up to the Guy
Burnside farm. You see we are looking for us a home. We also took the Kodak and
went away down the railroad track for a walk this evening. We all went up to
the church to preaching to-night.

3, nice day. We went to Mr. Guy Burnside's house to talk to him about renting
or buying his farm.

4, Tuesday, we got up before four o'clock this morning and came on the early
train to Buckhannon. Charley Lewis came down with us. We ate breakfast at
William's. We went out to Uncle Ira's a little while. We went to Job Smith’s
this afternoon and are going to stay all night. He is my half first cousin.

5, Wednesday. We got on the train and came to Frametown this evening. We went
over to Mr. Joe Twyman's a little while. Then we went over to Mr. L. Horner's
in a Road Wagon. John Beatty & his wife,
Mary, and his little daughter Beaulah, and John's uncle and aunt, a Mr.
& Mrs. Beatty were in the wagon. Dewey walked most of the way. We are going
to stay all night. John & his wife and daughter came on to Rosedale.

6, Thurs. rained a little to-day. We came on down to Rosedale this morning,
came in a wagon part of the way. Mr. & Mrs. Beatty came down as we did. We
went to Mrs. Charley Beatty's funeral this morning. My, but we are tired.

7, Friday. I didn't work much to-day. Am resting a little. We went over to
church to-night to their school doings. They had a nice program.

8, Sat. nice day. Mother went up to Sylvia's this morning. Eddie came home this
evening.

9, Sunday, rained a little to-day. Dewey and I took a long walk this morning
and also this afternoon. We are going to move down to Uncle Billy's in the
morning, to stay with them a while. Mother came home this evening.

10, Mon. nice day. We moved this morning. We are both well satisfied down here.
Mother came down a little while this afternoon. Dewey worked for Mr. Ellis
Snodgrass this afternoon.

11, Tues. rainy day. Dewey has gone to work. nice afternoon, Mrs. Ora Turner
& I went and picked a mess of greens this afternoon. I went up home and
stayed a few minutes this evening.

12, 1922. Wednesday. I washed
to-day. Mother came down this afternoon and brought her onions. I helped to
make the bed and set them out. Dewey
got Mr. C. N. Snodgrass’s team and plowed our potato patch.

13, Thurs. Clarence Conley was here for supper yesterday evening. I have been
working hard all week.

14, Friday, rainy morning. I cleaned Dewey's suit this morning and pressed it
this afternoon. I also ironed the rest of our clothes. Dewey didn't work this
morning but he worked this afternoon.

15, Saturday, nice day.. Dewey and I went over to Ethel Sand's last night and
listened to the Victrola a little while. I baked two green currant pies and a
cake this morning. Susan Turner was here a little while ago to get her shoe
fixed. Dewey is working for Mr. C. N. Snodgrass. I am not feeling so very well.

16, Easter Sun. nice day. To-day is Dewey's birthday. I guess he is 23 years
old. We went up to the graveyard and
took some Kodak pictures to-day. I stopped at home a little while.

17, Monday, rained some this morning. Dewey Uncle Billy and I planted potatoes
this afternoon. I was up home and hemmed two dresser scarves this morning.

18, Tuesday. Rained this morning, nice this afternoon. I feel awfully bad
to-day. I was up at Mrs. Meadows a little while this morning.

19, Wed. I still feel bad.

20, Thursday, It rained Mon., Tues., and Wed. It didn't rain to-day.

21, Fri. rained to-day. Mary was here a little while one day this week. I don't
remember which day it was. Dewey and my home folks don’t get along very well.
It troubles me a good bit.

22, Saturday. I think it rained again to-day.

23, Sunday, nice day. We stayed at home most all day. We went and gathered some
pretty flowers in the evening.

24, Mon. I washed to-day. Mother was here a little while this evening.

25, Tuesday, rained some to-day. Vernetta Frame & her son, Clifford were
here a little while this morning. I went up home a little while this
after-noon.

26, Wed. rained again to-day. Dewey didn't work this afternoon. Mother came
down a while this afternoon.

27, Thursday, nice day. Dewey has gone to work. Uncle Billy has just got back
from town. Mr. Jess Snodgrass is moving in another house in town. Bernice &
Ollie Carr were here a little while to-night. Bernice came to borrow my spring
coat.

28, Friday. I was up at Vinnie Turner's a little while this morning.

29, Saturday. I was up at Mrs. Eva Frame's a little while this afternoon. She
gave me some onions to bring home with me.

30, Sunday. Nice warm day. Dewey
& I went out to Sylvia's this morning.

1, Monday. Nice day. It has frosted three nights on the straight. Aunt Tudy
Carroll, Mrs. Ora Turner, and myself went green hunting this afternoon. They
stopped at the house a while. Uncle Billy and I planted some bunch beans &
some beets this afternoon and I planted some radishes.

2, Tuesday, nice sun shiny day. Mother was here a little while this afternoon.
I planted some cucumber seeds this evening. Dewey, Mr. Jim Marshall and his
son, Faye and Eddie all went fishing to-night. Dewey got back a little after
three. He got several fish.

3, Wednesday, rainy morning. Savannah Harmon was here for dinner to-day.
Bernice Carr was here a while this afternoon. Dewey went to work this
afternoon.

6, Saturday, rained some to-day. I baked some cake and pies this morning.

7, Sunday, nice day. Mrs. Meadows was here a little while this morning. Dewey
brought his cow down in this field this morning but she jumped out and went
back up to his uncle's farm again this afternoon. I was at home a little while
to-day. Dewey and I were at Sunday school this morning.

8, Monday, nice day. I go up to the farm with Dewey every evening to milk our
cow. He goes up by himself of a morning.

morning. Lelah Upton and Arlou Hawkins were here a little while this evening.

10, Wed. rainy morning. I have the headache this morning.

12, Friday rained some to-day. I ironed. Dewey & I went up to the church to
a banquet to-night. Part of the board of Education of Gilmer & Braxton were
there, also the county Supt. from each Co., besides another big educational
man. They are trying to get a high school made out of their graded school here.
I don't know whether they will succeed or not. My husband and I didn't stay
till it was over. We came home.

13, Sat. nice day. Mary came down a little while this afternoon. I went home
with her.

14, Sunday. I don't feel well to-day. My lungs have been hurting me.

15, Monday. Nice day. Mother came down this afternoon.

16, Tuesday, nice morning. I washed this morning. I feel awfully bad to-day,
rained some this evening.

17, Wed. rained all morn., also most all last night. Dewey didn't work this

30, Monday, light frost, nice warm day. Dewey & Mr. Jim Marshall have gone
squirrel hunting. I was up home a little while this afternoon. I sold a pound
of butter to them at home. Dewey killed five squirrels to-day.

31, Tues. big frost this morning. Dewey went to help Mr. Jim Marshall husk corn
till noon. Uncle Billy and Clarence Conley were here a few min. to-day. Dewey
is up in town now. It is ten minutes after 7 o'clock. This is Halloween night.

1, Wed. I washed to-day. Had a great hunt after cows. Dewey is helping Mr.
Marshall husk corn this morning. I don't feel well to-day.

2, Thurs. Sylvia & children came home to-day. Mr. Reeder helped her home
with the children. Mr. Beatty & Mrs. Meadows were married last night. Dewey
& I went to the serenade to-night. They were serenaded down at Mrs. Meadows'. We had a nice time. Mother,
Mary & Eddie were there. There were lots of people here.

3, Friday. Sylvia & I had a few words to-day. I wish she could get a house to move in. It doesn't
seem as much like home with her here as if she wasn't here. She went up home
to-day.

went up home a little while this afternoon. Also went down to Aunt Martha's and

kettle of soap. Dewey worked on the oil well for Mr. Beatty this morning, I
went over to Mrs. Meadows', or rather Bertie's this eve. Also to Aunt Martha's
for to get 75 ct. worth of meat on what they owed Dewey.

18, Saturday, rainy day. Dewey got Mr. Steward Wright's team and hauled a load
of fodder this morning. Goff Frymyer was here for dinner. He came to get Dewey
to cut his hair. Eddie was here a little while. Dewey and him went hunting this
evening. Mirrel Newell and Stanley Turner were here a while to-night.

30, Thursday, Thanksgiving day cold frosty morning. Dewey has gone to Antony to
work for Mr. Beatty to-day. I am picking out walnut kernels to sell. One of my
hens laid to-day. The first egg I have got for a long time.

1, Friday, rainy part of day. I went over to Irvan Kyer's to a sale this
morning. I bought a rocking chair, a bread pan & a skillet, also a bed
stead and springs. Total cost of all $8.30. I stopped at home a few min. as I
went down. I stopped at Uncle Billy's a little while. Dewey is working for the
Mill Fork Oil Co. to-day. I ate dinner at Mr. Beatty's to-day. Mr. Raymon
Perkins brought my bed stead springs and rocker home for me, without charging.
Mr. Jim Marshall was here a little while to-night. Mother was here a while this
afternoon. She came to get some buttermilk.

again to-day. My little brown hen laid again today.

3, Sunday, nice day. Mary & Eddie came down to-day. We got up late. It was
about ten o'clock when we ate breakfast. We went with Mary & Eddie over to
Bertie's a little while, then went up home with them. We ate dinner there.

nearly all night. Dewey worked for the Mill Fork again to-day.

5, Tues. I broke my pretty glass dish that Lilly gave me. Mother came down this
afternoon. Mrs. Hube Frame & little son were here a little while this
afternoon. I don't feel well to-day. My friend, Miss Bannie Dodrill, was
married Nov. 30, Thanksgiving day. She married Harry L. Luikart. My, but I
would love to see her. I am so anxious to hear from her.

colder. Eddie & Dewey bought a dog of Earl Carr yesterday. They went after
him to-day. He cost them $15.00. We are going to keep him down here and feed
him a while. He is a pretty little brown dog.

birthday. I am 27 years old. I don't feel that old though. Ha! ha! My little

for a Xmas present, to-night.

22, Friday, warmer this morning. I
put my walnut kernels in the office yesterday, or rather Dewey taken them up to
the store and Sylvia put them in the office for me.

23, Saturday, nice sunshiny day. Dewey & I were up town last night. The
school had an entertainment at the church. Mother, Mary, Eddie, Sylvia, Wanda,
Maxine, and I were all there. Dewey stayed at the store till I came back. I
baked my cake and pies to-day, and went up to Mother's and made the caramel for
Mary's cake. Was also up at Sylvia's a little while. My own darling husband
bought me a pretty dish, and a meat platter for a Christmas present. They cost
a quarter each.

25, Monday, Christmas day. Dewey and Eddie are working to-day. I went up home
this morning. We, Mother, Sylvia & children, went up to the Junior Lodge
hall where they were treating the children on candy & apples. They had two
Santas, Mr. & Mrs. Santa. Then we went down in the lower end of town and
watched the basket ball game a little while. My little Banty pullet died
to-day.

patched some, besides the other work. We went to meeting again to-night. Rained

24, Wed. cold rainy morning. My baby sister Mary Meadows gave birth to a fine
big boy this morning about 15 min. till 6 o’clock. Don't know just how much it
weighs, I would guess between 8 and 9 lbs. I was at home all day to-day. Has
been an awfully bad day.

25, Thurs. cold morning. I went up to meeting this morning, also was at home a
good bit. Ate dinner there. Mary's baby is awfully sweet. I want to go up to
meeting to-night if I possibly can.
