10, Sat. to-day is father's birthday.
He is 62 yrs. old. I thought I
was able to do my work so I paid Ena to-day and she has gone up to Mother's.

11, Sun. I am lots worse than I
was. I was awfully feverish last night. Dewey went up to Mother's and got Ena to come back to do the
work. She stayed at Mother's last
night. Mary & Alvin were here too. Sylvia, Wanda, Maxine & Mary were all
here to-day. Mr. Jim Marshall was here
a little while this evening.

15, Thurs. Has been a rainy week. Artha King & Eugenia Smith, (the
preacher's daughter) were here a while to-day.
I have been pretty ill the last few days. They have been awfully uneasy about me. I am not well yet by a whole lot. Don't seem to gain strength very fast.

16, Fri. Oh pshaw to-day is when Artha
and the preacher's girl was here instead of yesterday. I am so awfully forgetful.

eve. Ena went home this morn. I think I am able to do my own work

some. Dewey has gone up town. Meeting is pretty good I hear.

weather. Harold Reeder came home with
Dewey from meeting and stayed for dinner and supper. Ena came home with him to-night.

21, Sat. I took an awfully bad
cold. Mother was here a while to-day.

22, Sun. Lovely day. Eddie, Mary & Alvan came over this
morning, Aunt Tuda Carroll came this morning also, Mother and Mrs. Roughner
Stalnaker and her little two year old son, Roughner Jr. came down right after
dinner. Mrs. Vinnie Turner and her
little son John Carroll, Mrs. Ed Lynch, her two youngest daughters, Marguerite,
and Helen, and her youngest son Edward were all here this afternoon.

23, Mon. I have such a cold am hardly
able to sit up. Big electric storm this
evening.

11, Wed. forgot to say that Mother & Mrs. Beatty were here yesterday, also
Maxine. Mother colored my short coat
for me. I went up town and took a
chicken to Mrs. Beatty last night.
Dewey stayed at home and took care of baby. I washed yesterday.

14, Sat. Rained some this evening. Dewey started to Sutton to-day at noon. He
is to attend his Mother's trial. She is
to be tried for murder. Sylvia &
Harlev came down and stayed with me a while to-night.

down this morning and stayed with me all day.
Mr. Jim Marshall was here a little while this afternoon. Wanda Leone Reeder came down this evening to
stay all night with me.

17, Tues. I washed to-day. Wanda went home this morning but came back
this evening to stay all night.

18, Wed. Rainy part of day. Mother came down this afternoon. Maxine came down this morning. Dewey came home from Sutton this
evening. They pronounced his Mother
crazy and are going to send her to Weston to the Asylum.

19, cold, windy day. Dewey has gone to
work. Baby Hazel Enid is 3 mo. old to-day. Sylvia was here a little while this
morning. They will soon have their new
house done and ready to move. I don't
remember whether I wrote about them and Mr. Cam Rollyson trading or not. They traded their property and Uncle Billy's
for Mr. Rollyson's farm at the head of Barn Run. Mr. Frank Martin bought the place where Harley lives at present
so they will be our closest neighbors soon.
I got a letter, it was Dessie Schofield telling me that Bayard Dodrill
is dead. Died a few days ago. I was sorry to hear about it. He used to go to school with me.

heifer up Mill Fork and put them in one of C. N. Snodgrass'es fields to leave
them a while till our grass gets a start.

Brannon went gigging to-night.

18, Sat. Beautiful day. The boys got several fish, mostly
suckers. I am not feeling well
to-day. Dalton and Cleo Reip were here
Thurs. They brought us some flour and
other stuff from Spencer. Baby is
asleep.

19, Sun. rained some to-day. Baby Hazel
is four months old to-day. Mary, Eddie
and little Alvin were here to-day. We
were over there a little while last evening.

to-day. She came this morning &
stayed all day. Mother was here a
little while this afternoon.

21, Tues. I washed to-day. I went up to Mrs. Martin's and got some milk

24, Friday. I was over at Vinnie
Turner's a little while this evening to borrow a wallpaper book. I took baby with me. I was also at Mr. Nath Shamblin's a little
while. Mrs. Shamblin is sick. Her father, Dr. Adams was there. Dewey came over and helped me carry baby
home. We stopped at Mrs. Martin's a
little while.

25, Sat. rained some to-day. I went up
to Mrs. Martin's and got some milk this evening.

26, Sun. rained to-day. I was over at
Mr. Shamblin's this morning to get some medicine of Dr. Adams for my
stomach. Buster Ferrell was here this
morning. We went over to Mr. Ellis
Snodgrass'es this afternoon. We stayed
for supper. We went up to Mary's a
little while.

27, Monday, rained some to-day. I went
over to Mr. Jim Marshall's this evening to get some tomato plants Beryl Wilson
gave me. I was at Mary's a little while
also. I am feeling awfully bad. Am having trouble with my stomach.

evening. Dewey & I and baby went
out to Lilly's this morning. Had a nice
time. Birt brought me a piece on his
horse. Baby and I rode. We stopped at Sylvia's a little while. Sylvia wasn't there tho.

Martin brought enough eggs for me to set two hens for her. Ena came down Wed. eve and brought enough

for supper. Lilly and all her children
except Orel will be at Mother's to-night.

afternoon. Of course baby Hazel was
with me.

17, Sunday. rained some last night and a little this morning. Dewey went out to Birt's yesterday eve and
he traded a watch to Birt for a stand of bees, and Birt helped him bring them
home and stayed with us last night. He
went home early this morning. Our cow,
Whiteface, had a nice little heifer calf last Sunday eve.

19, Tues. Forgot to say Mother came
down yesterday and made me a nice kettle of soap.

20, Wed. Mary and Alvin were here for
dinner to-day. My little darling baby
was five months old yesterday. She
weighed 16 lb and 14 oz last Friday.
Dolly Snodgrass was here a little while this afternoon to get a mess of
lettuce.

21, Thurs. I washed to-day. It rained a little this eve.

22, Friday. I worked some in the garden
to-day.

23, Sat. Awfully warm day. To-day is Arlie Maxine Reeder's
birthday. She is four years old.

24, Sun. We were over at Mary's
to-day. They took us a car ride in
their car. Mother was in the car with us part of the time. Her and us ate dinner at Mary's. We had to pen our chickens to-day.

dinner. Mother and I were up to the
cemetery this morning. We stopped at
Oscar Hawkins a little while. They live
on the hill just below the cemetery, in what used to be the schoolhouse.

father were all here for dinner to-day.

1, Monday. Very hot day. My little darling babe is covered almost
with hives. It makes her cross.

dinner to-day. It rained a little this
evening. Hazel and I took a car ride
with Mary and Eddie this eve.

were here a while to-day. They stayed

this evening. I got some lemons and an
orange of Bonnie Boggs. I also got an
ice cream cone at Jim Carroll's.

to-day. Mother was here. We had chicken for dinner. Luella Smith was here this afternoon.

6, Monday. I forgot to say we had a bee
swarm the 3rd of this month. We have
been having a good bit of rain this month.

8, Wed. Awfully hot, rained some. Mother came down this afternoon and helped
me finish pulling my onions. She
brought me a letter from Nessie B. Hall, a girl I write to that lives in
Scotland.

yesterday evening. Baby dear is asleep.

14, Tues. Forgot to say that Dewey and
his grandfather, Uncle Jim Mace, took some honey
from our bees. Mother and Thelma
Ferrell were here this afternoon., also Mrs. Willie Sholes, and her four
children, Willa, Wilfred, Alfreda, and Charlatta Lee. Mrs. Sholes came up to buy some honey. We sold her four lb and a half.

children were here this afternoon. They
stayed till after supper. Mabel and
Ruby Carr were here a while this afternoon.

Bertie King's this afternoon. Mary and
Alvin were there. Ivy King came home
with me and took care of Hazel Enid while I done my evening chores. Dewey is still running tour on the well.

We had chicken for supper.
"Bossie" had a calf this evening. It is a steer calf.

1, Sat. I was up at Mother's
to-day. She was out at Lilly's and
didn't come home till evening. Lilly,
Birt and the children came home with her.
I got dinner at Mother's for father, Dewey and myself. I was at Bertie King's a few min. this
morning also at Mary's a few min. and at Mrs. Beatty's a few min. after milk
for dinner.

2, Sun. Mother, father, Mary, Alvin,
Lilly, Birt, Garnet, Orel, Macel, and Burl were all here for dinner
to-day. We had a nice time.

that Mrs. Sholes and her children were here for supper. Their names are Willa, Wilfred, Alfreda, and

after preaching. John Upton and two
Moyers boys were baptised. We ate
dinner at Mother's. I was at Mrs.
Ferrell's a few min. also at Mary's a little while.

Hazel. He came after us this

and six weeks old baby, Vera June, were there at Sylvia's also.

Ethel, were here for supper this evening.

afternoon. Baby & I were over at
Mary's a little while this afternoon.

19, Wed. Hot day. Alvin and Ena Minney were here after butter
this afternoon. Mrs. Sholes was here a
little while yesterday evening. We
loaned Eddie a hundred dollars last evening.
Dewey has gone to town and baby Hazel and I are sitting on the
porch. Baby is 8 mo. old to-day.

21, Friday. I washed to-day. Mother & Mrs. Beatty were here a little
while this afternoon. Dewey, Baby &
I went up town this evening. I took a
gal and a half of grapes up to Mrs. Beatty.
She gave me 75 cents for them. I
stopped in to see Bernice Brannon. She
has typhoid fever. We were at Mother's
a good bit.

22, Sat. Lester Moyers was here this
evening to get his hair cut. Morley
Wright and Harold Pitsinger were here to-night to get their hair cut.

23, Sun. We are having awfully dry
weather. We were over at Mary's for
dinner to-day. Mother came down after
dinner. Ena Minney is staying with
Mary.

to Mr. Wirt Norman's a little while this afternoon. Dewey is up town to-night and baby is in the bed.

Birt's to-day. Mr. Ira Minney, his wife
Myrtle, and four of their children were there also. The children's names were Rhena, Ressie, Cressie, and Renis. We all had all the watermelon we could eat. We stopped at Sylvia's a few min.

31, Mon. Awfully hot day. Mother came down this morning to take care
of the baby for me while I picked my beans up in the garden for my pickle
beans. It rained this afternoon. We were glad to see the rain for it had been
very dry for a good while. We had to
carry water from the well for our cows for a week.

5, Saturday. I went over to Mary's this
afternoon, Aunt Rachel Carroll and Eva Dobbins and Mother were there. Ena Minney is staying there. Dr. Roberts was there to-night. Mary gave birth to a little daughter about 5
min. to 12 o’clock to-night. To-day is
Eddie’s birthday. He is 34 years old. So his daughter was born on his
birthday. I stayed till after twelve
o'clock. Dewey came over and came home
with me. It was something after 1
o'clock when we got home. My but I was
tired and sleepy.

evening. I went over to see Bernice
Brannon a little while. Was also up to

13, Sunday. Rained some last night,
also to-day. Mother, Lilly, Birt and
their four children were here to-day.
We all went over to Mary's after dinner. Dewey was sick last night and to-day.

14, Monday. Dewey, Hazel Enid and I went
to Sutton this afternoon. Eddie took us
in his car. We gave him four dollars. We all
ate supper at Mrs. Arnold's hotel.
Dewey and I went to the dentist's office and got some teeth fixed. The dentist's name is J. Clyde McNeill. It was between nine and ten o'clock when we
got home. I was awfully sick. We were all worn out.

1, Thurs. I washed to-day. Clara Perkins gave birth to a boy one day in
Sept. also Mrs. Porter Dobbins. I don't

baby can climb up by a chair or most any thing and step around a little. She hasn't any teeth yet. G, but she is sweet.

week. It rained to-day. Bay and Mary Norman were here this
afternoon. They brought me half a gal.

chestnuts to-day. We went up to
Mother's. Mary, and her children and
Mother were up at Everette Perkins and baby Hazel and I went up there
also. We all went over to Mr. Beatty's
a little while then in to see Bernice Brannon a little while. Then over to Mother's. It rained to-day.

to-day and Lilly's baby is ten months old.
Hazel is in the bed asleep and Dewey is up town. It is pretty chilly to-night.

10, Sat. Cold and windy. Mother & I and little Hazel went up to
Lilly's to-day. We rode in the car with
Mirrel Newell over half the way. I was
at Cleo Reip's a little while this evening.

11, Sunday. Frosty, cold morning. We started from Lilly's about one o'clock or
a little past this afternoon. We came
out and stopped at Sylvia's a little while.
Poor old Aunt Martha is certainly pitiful looking.

12, Monday. Rainy most all day. Mother and Mrs. Ethel Shamblin came down
this afternoon and stayed with my baby and I went up to the garden and dug my
peanuts and a few sweet potatoes.

14, Wed. Rainy day. Poor old Aunt Martha Stalnaker died this
morning about 8 o’clock, I believe.
Dewey is helping dig her grave.
Poor woman, she certainly suffered an awful sight. My, how lonely and dreary a day, baby &
I are here alone. Charles Bourn died
last Sunday night.

morning. Lilly and Garnet came over for
Aunt Martha's funeral. Sylvia, Harley
and the children were there of course.
Poor old Uncle Billy he took it awfully hard. I didn't go up to the graveyard for I didn't feel like going as I
had the sick headache
last
night. Poor old Uncle Dexter Smith died
the 6th of this month. Uncle
Gibson Smith has been dead a good while.

us. There were several people
there. We had a chicken feast. There was Vinnie Turner and her two
children, Suzan and Carroll, Lelah Upton, Ruth Perrine, Mrs. Bucklew, Miss
McQuaine, Miss Gerwig (the three last named are the lady teachers here) Dr.
Moore, Ed Tygart, and Ed Lynch. We had
quite a nice time.
