Josiah Winslow was born 11 Feb 1621/22 in Droitwich, Worchestershire, England, and died 01 Dec 1674 in Plymouth, MA. He married Margaret Bourne on 1636 in Marshfield, MA.

Josiah and his brothers John, Gilbert and Kenelm arrived in Plymouth in 1631, not original Pilgrims but the younger brothers of Edward Winslow who came with Governor Bradford on the Mayflower. Edward, styled a “merchant”, was in 1633 Governor of Plymouth Colony, made several trips back to England on behalf of the colony and in 1655 was lost at sea.
Josiah was a bookkeeper and he was admitted in 1633 as a Freeman of Plymouth Colony, then erased and entered in the Marshfield section of the list.
Before 1643 Josiah and Edward had removed to Marshfield. Josiah was a deputy for Marshfield to Plymouth General Court as various sessions from 1643 to 1651 and a Marshfield Selectman.
When he died on Dec. 1, 1674 he left a dwelling, several hundred acres of land, 107 pounds 16 shillings, a bible and several religious books.
