    Rev. Daniel H. Willis, Sr. (b. December 28, 1817; d. March 27, 1887). Married Anna Slaughter (b. May 29, 1820 d. March 24, 1876) on March 15, 1838 Both are buried at Amiable Baptist Church Cemetery near Glenmora, Louisiana There children were: Daniel H. Willis, Jr. born 1839, Eliza Willis born circa 1843, Mary Jane Willis born circa 1845, David Willis born circa 1846, Martha Willis born circa 1847, Matthew Willis born circa 1848, Dempsey Willis born 1853, Calvin Willis born circa 1855, and Robert Willis born in 1858.
  • Daniel H. Willis, Jr. (9 KB)
    Born April 2, 1839 in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. Died May 22, 1900 at the residence of his son Dr. Daniel Oscar Willis near Leesville, Louisiana. He was the first of four sons of Rev. Daniel H. Willis Sr. and Anna Slaughter to marry four daughters of Robert Graham and Ruth Smith. He married Julia Ann Graham on January 10, 1867 at the home of her father Robert Graham. He was the great grandson of pioneer Baptist preacher Rev. Joseph Willis.

    Robert Graham: b. August 20, 1818; d. February 10, 1890 Married Ruth Smith (b. December 5, 1813 d. June 2, 1869) Both are buried at the Graham Cemetery - Forest Hill, Louisiana. Ruth had told Robert that wished to be buried at the top of a hill on their land near Forest Hill, La. She was and that hill is known today as the Graham Cemetery. Four of their daughters married four of Rev. Daniel H. Willis, Sr's sons: Julia Ann Graham married Daniel H. Willis, Jr., Demerius Graham married Calvin Willis, Annie Graham married Robert Willis and Maggie Graham married Dempsey Willis. Additional daughters of Robert and Ruth were: Elizabeth Graham who married Joel Merchant, Katherine Graham who married a Sermons, Emily Graham who married William Butter, Ruth Graham who married James Moore. Robert and Ruth also had two sons: William Graham who married Laura Dyer and Lorenzo Dow Graham who married Victoria Pickren. They had a total of 10 children.
  • Dr. Daniel Oscar Willis (1 KB)
    Daniel Oscar Willis MD He was born March 8, 1875 and died December 23, 1935 from injuries sustained in an auto accident at LeBeau, La. He died at Bunkie, La. He married his first wife Ella Elizabeth Lamberth (b. January 16, 1871; died July 1, 1921) in 1896. He married his second wife Mary Hamilton in 1928. He is buried at Leesville Cemetery in Leesville, La. He began his medical practice in 1902 and was the first medical doctor in Vernon Parish, La. He was in United States Army Medical Corps in World War I and was commissioned as a Captain in August of 1917. Pictured with him is Ella Elizabeth Lamberth Willis.
