Lieut. Wm. Albee came to Machias, Maine in 1769 and was associated in building the first church there. He had eight years' service in the Revolution.

There is a monument gravestone which marks Lieut Wm. Albee's grave at Hadley's Lake, East Machias.

Machias is 20-25 miles from the New Brunswick border and near the sea coast of Maine. It's seaport was called Machiasport.
