| I am researching the FOSSETT's of VA, SC, GA, and AL. My research takes the FOSSET family back to Reuben FOSSETT Sr., born in VA in about 1780 & died in GA about 1857. Most of the family stayed in N. GA. My line went to Dekalb Co., AL. I have records on a number of descendants also. HANCOCK's of VA, TN, AL, and TX. HANCOCK research only goes back to 1840's, with possible info further back. Older ancestor's not proven yet. Unable to document info on Singleton HANCOCK, b. about 1805, has put up the wall that I've run into.TRANMER's of ENG, NY, and ID. Wm. Blackburn TRANMER came to the US around 1850 with his mother Mary & brother Thomas. The family came from Yorkshire, England. Mary died between 1850 & 1860. Wm. is found in IL, MO, KS, & ID. Wm. was a judge in Twin Falls, Idaho. One son became a judge, another son led a very dark life though all of the children were reared alike.I have several photos of the TRANMER/BURKE family members & friends. Many photos are identified with only the last name. If anyone can help with the identification of these photos, please contact me. MEEKS of IA & CAI don't have much info on the MEEKS line. This has been a very elusive bunch. I do know that Edward, Ethel, & children were in Clinton, Iowa as late as 1926, but in San Bernadino, CA in 1928 when my grandfather Joe MEEKS attended high school.Edward died abt. 1971, Ethel abt. 1955, & Joe in 1970. All died in CA. ANY info on any of these surnames would be appreciated. Also researching BURKE, JETT, LACKEY, PRIVETT, STOVER, WILSON, ODOM, HARRISON, ROBERTS. |
