Seeking the families/descendants of Alpheus EGGLESTON, b 4 Jul 1830 Portage Co. OH, d Osceola, IA 9 May 1905, bur. Maple Hill Cem., and Mary Beutelon, d. Osceola, Clarke Co., IA 15 May 1892, bur. Lewis Cem. Their son Richard "Dick" Eggleston and Dora (Lewis) Clarke, dau of Osceola pioneer & Civil War vet Aaron Lewis, were my Grandparents. Grandfather Richard Eggleston was Clarke Co. Sheriff tragically killed on duty in the Osceola 22 Nov 1917 fire and explosion and my family lost touch. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Some children of Alpheus and Mary left Osceola, Clarke County, Iowa and were later residing in Kansas, Nebraska, SDakota and California. My Grandfather Richard Lansing Eggleston was administrator of Alpheus Eggleston's estate which lists the following children of Alpheus EGGLESTON and Mary BEUTELON and residence in 1907:
