I am researching both sides of my family, the Wilkes and the Wetherholt's.My dad's side, the Wilkes, mostly came from the south, i.e., Tennessee and North & South Carolina.Other surnames in his family include Veal, Kirkland, Holley, and Blalock.
Mom's side, the Wetherholt's, came from the north.Upper Michigan, and Upper and Lower Canada (Ontario and Quebec, respectively).My mom and her family came from Sault St. Marie, Michigan.Other surnames include Laramie (various spellings), Fevrier, Plant, Sova, Campbell, and Ermatinger.
I have also started playing around with my husband's family tree.Surnames in his tree include Wineland (his name), England, Gates, and Hutton.
