Researching the following surnames:
Winer-Kaunas,Lithuania
Dembo-Ukmerge,Lithuania
Selig-Germany,Boston,MA
Kallman-Germany,Boston,MA

The Winers in this Family Tree came from Kaunas,Lithuania in
the latter part of the 19'th century. Max Winer arrived in
United States,August 1883,and settled in Salem MA in 1885. He was
followed by his brothers Jacob,Nathan,Haskell, and sister Dobra.
His sister,Hannah remained in Lithuania. This family of Winers are
direct descendants of Maurice and Rebecca. The first Winer Family
Tree was published in 1982.When Max sailed on the S.S.Lessing
from Hamburg,Germany at the age of 22,his name on the ship's
manifest was spelled Wiener. The name on his naturalization
paper in 1891 was Winer. A search is being made to find out
whether the name was changed from Viduklevsky or whether it was
always Winer! Also the name of the shtetl in Lithuania may be
Panevezys.

The Dembo family can be traced to Aaron Dembo circa 1750. The
most famous Dembo was Isaac Dembo,a physician from Panevezys
Lithuania. He was written up in the Jewish Encyclopedia for his
research in the Kosher slaughtering of animals.
The Selig and Kallman families came from Berlin,Germany to
Boston,MA around 1850.
