The John H. Hodgkins Family Home Page

As of today, November 23, 1998, I've been involved in researching my family history for just over three months and am using family tree Maker, ver 5.0. At this point, my family history rests in Texas, particulary Fort Worth, Wichita Falls, Austin and Houston. Primary names: HODGKINS (NY,PA,TX), AUTREY (TX), TUCKER (SD,AR,OK,TX), GREER (TN,TX).
James Hodgkins(born 1812) & Katherine Steere-Hodgkins (born 1815) and at least one son (John H. - born March 4, 1837 and his wife Elizabeth Emmons - born Sept. 16, 1839) arrived in NY around 1862 from England.

John H. and Elizabeth had the following children: John R. (born Sept. 24, 1865 in NY), James "Jim" (born Nov. 26, 1866 in PA), Katie (born 1868 in PA), E. Burney (born 1873 in PA) and William (born 1874 in PA).

John H. married Lue Teney Autrey on Oct. 12, 1910 in Palo Pinto County, Texas and they had the following children: Genell, Odell, Sarah Elizabeth, Albert Elias, William Edgar "Ed". Elmer B., Elnor, and Vernon Cecil.

James married Sarah Elizabeth Greer on April 12, 1891 in Tarrant County, Texas and they had the following children: Dorthy L., Martha Eleanor, James Lawrence, Charles Harold, Violet Garner, Herbert Dudley, John Earl, William Archibald "Archie", Everett Taylor and Vivian Greer.

All these relatives are deceased but I have information on their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
