Researching country of orgin of Wisman and Maphis Family.Johannes Mevius(Meifius,Maphis) and Johann Philipps Wisman, palatines came to the port of Philadephia on September 26,1737 on the St. Andrew Galley from Rotterdam (Master John Stedman),with the last port from Cowes, England. Recorded at the Courthouse [List 47 C].Both purchased land in Augusta County[now Shenandoah Co.]from Lord Fairfax in 1750. |
