I am researching the ancestors of my father George Davis Braithwaite born 1911 in Spanish Fork, Utah his father Willard Braithwaite was born in Manti and his mother Tabitha Davis was born in Tylorstown, Glamorgan, Wales. Willard's father was Robert Braithwaite from Kendal,Westmoreland, England and his mother was Harriet Amelia Bemus born in Fulton Co, Illinois. Robert's family were early LatterDay Saint Converts in England, having joined church in the 1840's, in Kendal, Westmoreland, England. Harriet's mother joined the church in 1830. My grandmother's family were early converts from Wales. Her father Samuel Morgan Davis and Mary Griffiths were both born after their parents had been baptized in Glamorganshire, Wales. The ancestors of my mother, Evelyn Clara Madsen, were also early converts. Her father James Niels Madsen was born in Denmark three years after his parents had been baptized. Her mother, Emma Jane Robertson, was the daughter of Nephi Robertson an early settler in Fountain Green,Utah. He came in one of the last handcart companies from Illinois in 1862 with his mother and five brothers after his father had died from injuries suffered at Huan's Mill. Emma Jane's mother, Eliza Ann Pennington immigrated to Utah from Hanley, Stafford, England.
