This census lists Frederick (49; occupation - tailor; birthplace - Baden, Germany) and Mary E. Witz (49; birthplace - France) living in the 8th District, 17th Ward of NYC on June 27, 1860, with their children: Philip (21; occupation - laborer), Francis J. (20; occupation - laborer), Anthony (18; occupation - shoemaker), Josephine (16); and on the next page in the census: Adolph (11; no doubt my grandfather's namesake), and Rosana (8). I believe that Paul is incorrectly listed as Philip. All the children are listed as being born in NY.
