This census lists Martha Robinson Hamilton Catts (37 - head of household - occupation: laundry woman) as living in North Pelham, NY on June 18th, 1900, with her children Arthur Hamilton (15), William Devoe Hamilton (11 - my maternal grandfather), Martha Elizabeth Hamilton (8), Ethel "Kit" Catts (5), and Harry Catts (1). My great-grandfather Charles Booth Hamilton (Martha Robinson's first husband) died of heart disease in 1893, and is buried in St. Paul's Cemetery, Mount Vernon , NY. Her second husband, Mason Catts, apparently abandoned the family.
