This census list my maternal grandfather (William Devoe Hamilton - 21; occupation: trolley conductor) living with his mother, (Martha Robinson Hamilton Catts - 47), his brother (Arthur J. Hamilton - 25), his half sister (Hanna "Kit" Catts - 15) and half brother (Harry Catts - 11), at 462 Second Avenue, Pelham, NY. Martha's husband Mason Catts allegedly abandoned the family, and Martha made ends meet by laundering clothes.
