My Kennedy and Witte Families

My mother was why I decided to start doing genealogy. She told us only information she thought we couldn't trace about her early life. My parents were together until my dad, Robert Eugene Kennedy died in 1983. As far as I know he didn't know about her past either. She used various versions of her name ranging from Daisy to Nadine and the surnames of Hardin/Harding/Harden/Hardy/Hardye/Hardyn. I started looking for information after her death in 1998 and had a very big brick wall to bring down. Since March 2006, I now know that her name was Daisy Hardy and that her birthday was April 18,1915 and not April 18, 1918 as she stated. I got her Social Security application and saw that her mother's maiden name was listed as Rose Crawford and not Wyhalia Runaway as she had said it was. She always said that she had only 1 brother whose name was Kenneth but she had sisters named Dorothy and Edith.
I found them in the 1920 census living in the household of Silas Kerna Hardy and the 1930 census shows them residing in Whitaker State Orphan Home in Pryor Oklahoma.

I found this picture for the first time after mother died. I don't know where it was all that time. It appears to be mother at about 12 with a older lady and a boy who is probably her brother. Reverend Simon H. H. Witte (430 KB) Simon Witte was born in 1821 in Prussia. He Married Mary Seiter Miller and adopted her two children after her divorce from John Alfred Miller. Robert Eugene Kennedy (43 KB) This was actually one of those photo booth pictures but I cleaned it up to look real good. This picture was made in the late 30s or early 40s. Alan Andrew Witte (9 KB) School picture from 1956-1957 Ida Kate Schulz Witte (22 KB) Ida Kate Schulz Witte was the wife of Cornelius Simon Witte and the mother of Cornelius Simon and Robert Louis Witte. Robert's and Kathryn's Marriage Linense (80 KB) Robert and Mary Kathryn Chafin Cornelius Simon Witte (23 KB) Cornelius Simon Witte was the husband to Ida Kate Schulz and the father of Cornelius Simon and Robert Louis Witte. Unidentified Picture (45 KB) This is a picture from the photo collection of Rubly L Schulz Napolion Bonaparte Kennedy (33 KB) This picture is a copy of a copy that I got from Basil Kennedy. The retangle behind his shoulder is a strip of paper which states his name. I can't tell if the origional was a photo or painting. Philype Bliss (78 KB) One of many unidentified pictures that I would like to know more about. In the C. S. Witte,Jr. family collection Kathryn and Miriam Chafin as young children (71 KB) Kathryn and Miriam Chafin are all dressed up and sitting on the poarch. 1910 census for John T. Crawford family (326 KB) John T. Crawford was living in Ballard, Adair, OK in 1910.
