- WOLFE Homestead in Harrison Co., KY (32 KB)
This chimney is all that remains of the Wolfe homestead built by Lewis WOLFE (VA 1752- KY 1848) ca 1812 near Raven's Creek. The 2 story house was still in use by a descendent of Lewis in 1940. It was still standing in 1980. Next to the chimney is the rubble of the house.

Wilma WOLFE BONAR took this picture of her husband, Alvin, in front of the homestead. The house was used into the 1940s.

The cemetery is today covered over. In July, 2000, we could barely find it. Fortunately, Alvin's sense of direction was excellent from his visit in 1980. The only tombstone that we saw was for Lewis WOLFE, son of the original Lewis WOLFE b. 1752 in VA.
