1. JAMES J.¹ WOLFE¹ was born October 05, 1804 in Pickaway County, OH ^2,³, and died September 14, 1869 in Tiffen, Seneca, Ohio, USA³. He married MARY ELIZABETH SHONKWILER³ 1823 in Scioto Co., Ohio, USA³, daughter of DANIEL SR. and ELIZABETH BUCK. She was born July 26, 1808 in Scioto Co. OH, and died September 07, 1889 in North Star, Gratiot Co., Michigan.

BURIED IN ROCK CREEK CEMETERY NEAR TIFFENJames J. Wolfe married Mary Elizabeth Shonkwiler and they moved to a farm near Tiffin, Seneca Co., OH. He farmed and helped take the Federal Census in Edens Township in 1840. Soon after, they moved to Indiana and were living there in 1843. After returning to Ohio, he enlisted in a volunteer militia company, The Seneca Co. History (Long) lists him as a veteran of the war with Mexico. He was apparently a chronic invalid and died of "dropsy", Sept. 14, 1869 and is buried in the Rock Creek Cemetery near Tiffin, OH. He was rather a large land owner and after his death, some members of his family petitoned for a division of the estate. The land and possessions were sold at a Sheriff's sale (Probate Court Case 1451, Seneca Co., Ohio). After the estate had been settled, Mary and her two youngest children, Effie and Issac Clinton moved to North Star, Mi. There she died in September of 1889 and is buried near Fulton Center, Gratiot Co. Mi.

After James Wolfe died and the estate had been settled, Mary and her two yongest children, Effie and Issac Clinton moved to North Star, Mi. There she died in September 1889 and is buried near Fulton Center, Gratiot Co. Mi. Her daughter, Rhoda, lived with her during the last years of their lives and Rhoda is buried in the same cemetery.
