      1. Jesse C.¹ Wood was born April 24, 1853 in Towns Co. Georgia, and died December 21, 1943 in Dawson Co. Georgia. He married (1) Sallie Cowart 1879 in Towns Co. Georgia, daughter of Jason Cowart and Artemis Chastain. He married (2) Elizabeth Ash Abt. 1906.

Notes for Jesse C. Wood:
Died in Dawson Co. Ga, but was buried at Mt. Zion #2 in White County, because the wife of Grandson, Jesse told family that she had family near there that would always take care of his grave site. In 1900 census for Towns, Co. GA, 3 of his children were living with the Berrong family.

Notes for Sallie Cowart:
Sallie's tombstone says she was born on December 13, 1859. The 1860 census for the family of Jason Cowart, (Spelled Coward), does not show a Sallie, but does show a child named Emaline, who is 6/12 of a year old. Maybe Sallie and Emaline are the same child. She died of consumption.

Only thing I know about Lewis, is that he moved to Oak Ridge Tenn. area. ( JC Wood told me this.)
