| I am researching the Board family. My maiden name is Board and I am from Mineola, Tx. My father is Benjamin Hardin Board, Jr., and he was born in Edgewood, Tx in Van Zandt county. His father was Benjamin Hardin Board and he was called Hardin. Hardin was born in Van Zandt county in 1895. Hardin's father was Phillip Mirandie Board and I believe he was born in Harrison county, Tx. His father was also called Phillip (W.) and I believe he died the year his son, Phillip was born (1871). Phillip's father was Nicholas Vaughn Board. I think he came to Texas in the early 1830's to early 1840's. His wife's name was Rebecca. Nicholas (N.V.) was a county commissioner for Harrison county and a postmaster for a brief period of time in Marshall, Texas. I'm guessing now, but Nicholas may have come from Kentucky around Harrodsburg in Mercer county. I know a Phillip Board lived in the area in the early 1800's and that he had several children. |
