Genealogy Records of Doris Rex Schutte indicate Jacob died 24 Apr 1802. This is consistent with Proceedings of Papers Presented to the Lehigh County Historical Society, written in 1908. However, according to the History of Lehigh County, PA, Jacob died 11 Apr 1802.

Bernard Jacob Rex, son of Hans Jürg and Barbara Rex, was born in Germantown 5 April 1724, and died in Heidelberg 24 April 1802, according to his gravestone inscription. Jacob Rieger and Anna Elisabeth Orner were married at the residence of
Christoph Raben 16 May 1749, according to the marriage register of St. Michael's and Zion Lutheran Congregation in Philadelphia. She died and was buried 22 July 1785 according to the pastoral record of Abraham Blumer, Reformed Minister.

On 20 December 1749 Georg and Barbara Rex deeded to their son Jacob Rex of Germantown, cordwainer, 276 acres in Heidelberg Township, including a portion of the original 400-ares grant and 152 acres patented a few days before. On this land
Jacob built a house, with the date stone inscribed "Anno 1752 JR ML." The land is still owned (in 1979) by Jacob's descendants. Jacob's will, written in German, was dated 24 December 1801.

Bernard Jacob Rex was the father of 11 children.

Christopher Rex, son of Hans Jürg and Barbara Rex, was born in Germantown circa 1725 and died there 22 January 1815 at age 90, according to the burial register of St. Michael's Church. Christopher Rex and Mary Clever were married 16 July 1751,
according to the marriage register of Old Swedes Gloria Dei Church at Wicacoa [Philadelphia]. The will of John Clever of Philadelphia County names his grandsons William and Jesse Rex. Christopher's second wife, circa 1764, was Margaret
Snyder; she died 12 April 1815.



Christopher lived in Whitemarsh and Flourtown, where he owned an inn The Sign of the Wagon and Horses 1764-1770. In 1765 he purchased from George and Sarah Donat a plantation of about 100 acres in Springfield Township, Montgomery County, which
he owned through the Revolutionary War and altogether 42 years. He was listed as head of a family in Montgomery County in the 1790 Federal census. His will was written 31 October 1807, naming wife Margaret, son Jesse, and Charles Dunnet as
executors. He also names his six grandchildren, the children of his deceased son William, and the remarried widow.
