12. Wilhelm³ Rex (George², George¹)³⁴⁶ was born in Heidelberg Township, PA³⁴⁶, and died Aft. March 20, 1812³⁴⁶. He married Catharina^347,³⁴⁸ Abt. 1767^348,³⁴⁹. She was born in Heidelberg Twp., Pennsylvania ³⁵⁰, and died September 11, 1829 in Germantown, PA ³⁵¹.

Wilhelm Rex was born at Heidelberg, the eldest son of Georg and Anna Margaretha (Knaus) Rex, and died at Roxborough, Philadelphia County, shortly after 20 March 1812 (the date of his will). In about 176___, probably at Heidelberg, he married
Catharina _____, his only known wife and presumably the mother of all his children. She died 11 September 1829, according to the burial register of St. Michael's Church at Germantown. Their gravestones are not found.

Wilhelm was a blacksmith, as were his father and grandfather Rex. At this time of his father's death (before 17 March 1773) Wilhelm was living on part of the 519-acre farm in Heidelberg Township. There is no known record of the final
distribution of is fathers estate or any division of the land. Wilhelm accepted responsibility for the farm 24 June 1773. He was on Peter Meyer's list of men who took the oath of allegiance 19 July 1777. He served as a Corporal and
Quartermaster in the Northampton County Militia 1778-1780, served on the frontie in 1780, and was a Sergeant of the Heidelberg Company 1782-1785. By 1790 he had moved to Roxborough, Philadelphia County, where he was head of family in the 1790
Federal census. His will was dated 20 March 1812 at Roxborough, and probated in the same year. He named only his son Daniel and his wife Catharine.
