How to Install from a CD in Safe Mode
  Copy the Files for the Program to be Installed to the Desktop
1 On the Desktop right click where there is blank space (no files or folders)
2 Click on New
3 Click on Folder
4 Type in a name (i.e., FamilyTreeMaker)
5 With the program's CD in the CD-ROM drive click on My Computer
6 Select the drive that represents your CD-ROM drive (i.e., D:) by double clicking on it
7 Click on the Edit pull down menu
8 Click on Select All
9 Click on the Edit pull down menu
10 Click on Copy
11 Find the folder that you created on the Desktop and double click on it
12 Click on the Edit pull down menu
13 Click on Paste. The copying will then occur
14 Exit My Computer by clicking on the "x" in the upper right hand corner of the screen
  Shutdown and Restart the Computer in Safe Mode
1 Click on the Start button. The Start menu will appear
2 Select Shut Down from the menu. The 'Shut Down Windows' dialog box will appear
3 Select 'Shut down' and click the Yes (or OK) button
4 Wait until the 'It is now safe to turn off the computer' message appears and turn the computer off
5 Turn the computer back on, after about 30 seconds
6 Begin immediately pressing the F8 key, every other second, until the Windows Startup menu appears
7 Press 3 and then Enter to start the computer in Safe Mode
9 Once Windows starts, an information message will appear explaining Safe Mode. Click the OK button to clear this message
  The computer is now in Safe Mode
  Installing Program
1 Find and double click on the folder that you created on the Desktop (FamilyTreeMaker)
2 Find the file Setup (Setup.exe) and double click on it
3 Follow the instructions of the Setup Wizard
  Installation Complete
  Clean Up
1 Click on and drag the folder (FamilyTreeMaker) to the Recycle Bin
