How to create 3x5 Index Cards:

An example of the Output Format for the Index Card:

From within the Family Tree Maker program, Click on View on the Tool Bar and select Labels/Cards

Don't worry about what that screen looks like. Click on Contents then select Items to Include:
Use the << button to Clear the Right Window.

Each Label or Card will contain these items:

When you select or hi-light Name in the left window and click > to add to the right window:
Name Options:
Individuals: Last, First Middle
Use Married names for individual females
Last name all caps
Word Wrap

Select Reference Number (down the list a bit) and click > to add to the right window.

When you select Born, Married, Died, in the left window and click on > you may want:
Date
..Comment/Location
Labels - abreviated
Include - In
Display only preferred
Word Wrap

Left window, at bottom is the line, click on > to add to the Right Window.
Move the Line up to under Reference Number

The Right window should now have:

Name
Reference number
Line in box
Born: Date \\ in Location
Married: Date \\ in Location
Died: Date \\ in Location

Contents, on the Tool Bar, select Options:

Options for Labels / Cards
Individuals or Household
Print blank rows when fields are empty.

Key,

Click on File, Select Print Setup for Labels/Cards
Select the Label/Card Stock
AVERY5386 Rotary Index Card 5.00' x 3.00

File, Save Cards/Labels As
Type in something that you will remember (Ancestor Cards)

Don't print yet.

Tool Bar, select Contents, Individuals to Include and Select only those that you want the cards on. Check the Index Card. The Avery 5386 would be 3 Individuals per page.
