Notes for AGNES THERESA KILL:
Did not speak english when she started school.
She liked to recount this story: when she was fairly young the kids in the family got into a battle while the parents were in town. The boys were throwing sand in at the girls through the back door and the girls were throwing hot water back at them. Of course, they had to clean up the mess before their parents got home. The combination of sand and water scrubbed the floor so clean that their parents were thrilled that they had been so industrious.
Agnes was a lady who never went to town without her lipstick and gloves. She never learned to drive but loved to "go for a drive". She raised chickens and always had a large garden. She milked her own cow until she was well into her 70's.
Agnes didn't care much for her name so she called herself "Agatha" and was even married by that name.
Funeral services were held at St. Columba Church.

Marriage Notes for GEORGE MALOY and AGNES KILL:
Agnes and George were married in Atchison, Kansas because they wanted to keep their marriage a secret. The priest refused to marry them under the circumstances so they found a justice of the peace. The secret was short lived when it showed up in the newspaper, however.
