I am searching for names pertaining to both my side of the family and my husband's. I have always been told that my family was of French Canadian descent with my paternal grandfather being a Chippewa Indian born in either Michigan or Ohio and going by the name of Joseph Lesperance. He was born about March 1881. I now have some reason to believe that he may have come from the Red River area of the west. My paternal grandmother's name was Witherden. She either came from West Lorne, Ontario or possibly London, Ontario. My husband's family name is Wray and they came from Ireland and lived in the Brantford, Ontario area. His mother's family is very confusing as I can find no records of their existence. They are believed to have been related to a Wilfred Dennison of the Owen Sound, Ontario area, but this may not be accurate. Any assistance any one can give would be greatly appreciated as I am really batting my head against brick walls.
