Descendants of William R. Wren of Dallas Co AL/SC/VA

Bobby Joe Wren (1929-2000) was the son of Olar Wendell Wren and Flora Elizabeth Rhoades. He was the youngest of ten children. He had six brothers [Herschel William Wren, Woodrow Wilson Wren, Olar Wendell Wren, Jr., Billy Wren and Sherell Wayne Wren] and three sisters [Oleta Geraldine Wren, Della Mae Wren and Evelyn Oneta Wren.

Bobby Joe Wren was the grandson of William Coleman Wren and Viola Patterson; the great-grandson of Marshall Wren and Mary Coleman and the great-great-grandson of William R Wren and his first wife {name unknown}.

William R. Wren was born in Virginia and may have married there. He was in South Carolina in 1790 (Edgefield county when he married his second wife in 1817} and in Dallas County Alabama by 1820 and died there between 8 December 1837 and 14 May 1838. He left a will naming a wife Sarah (a third wife) and the following children: Marshall Wren, Polly Glover, Elizabeth McMillan, Ferreby Driskell, Tappanes Adams, Milly Hoot, Leanna Mcmillan and Richard H. Wren.

Most of the children of William R. Wren migrated to Texas and have been found in the following Counties: Anderson, Hunt, Brazos, Madison, Randall, Potter and Polk,
