| I am researching the Decendents of Joel Marting Wright of Kentucky. Seventy-five percent of this information has been given to me by several caring decendents. Please give credit to Nancy Wright Bays, Helen Oney, Patty Meehan and Patty Brashear, Wiiiard Mack Wright for thier years of research on our Wright family line. I made this family page in hopes of linking up to other familys including; Cogar, Ford, Humphrey. The Cogars are from West Virginia and I have little information, any help would be aprreciated. The Humphreys are from Kentucky, I believe western in the Lexington area, my line came to Ohio and Indiana. The Fords are from the Crossville Tennesse area of Cumberland County. You can contact me at my email address and I will share any information I have. If you see a link maybe we can connect which is what this all about. Do not take any information in this page to be accurate. I have typed all in and have not confirmed much of it. I can document where I got what on request. It brings me much joy to make available another outlet for the decendents of these great families to reunite and find missing branches or lost ancestors. In fact I give all credit to God. If all else fails in your search Pray, it worked for me, better yet Pray first!
The Ford Line I'm researching starts with my Great Grandfater Bill Ford. This is my latest work in progress and it turning out to be a great challenge. Bill Ford married Floy Rowe in 1925 in Cumberland County Tennessee. They had one daughter, Mildred Alice Ford in December 1925. I believe that Bill Ford ties in with the local Ford line in that area going back to John Ford Sr., Revolutionary War Veteran. I have all the older records on this Ford Family.
This Rowe family came to Cumberland County Tennessee from Watauga County, North Carolina shortly after 1900. George Hardy Rowe and His wife Nancy Alice Baliff was the parants of my great grandmother Floy Rowe. I now have information on this family and will add more as I can. George and Nancy's children were:
Clarence Humphrey, was born in Kentucky. I have heard several places mentioned, but I can only say western Kentucky. He had a son named Robert from his first marraige. Clarence married Mildred Ford Baxter, also her second marraige in Dayton Ohio. Clarence was born in 1901 and died in 1970. Clarence and Mildreds children were:
I am looking for information on Clarence Humphrey.
My great grandfather was Draper Cogar. Draper died in 1919 in World War 1. His name is listed on a Dead or Mission monument in Webster Springs, West Virginia. Draper Cogar married Clara Jane Chapman in abt.1917. He and Clara had one child, my grandmother, Geneva June Cogar. I am looking for information on Draper Cogars father. I am sure that he ties into the Historic Line of Cogars in Webster Springs, West Virginia going back to Claus Koger in Germany 1600's.
Clara Jane Chapman born in West Virginia, my great grandmother. Here parents were John Richard Chapman and Melvina Cogar. I have quite a bit of information on this Chapman family. They were from Webster County, West Virginia. I am currently in contact with decendents putting together a family history. I have connected Melvina Cogar to the Claus Cogar line dating back to 1600's Germany and have lots and lots of Cogar info.
