| I have at last found that Robert Wright born 1840 was in Irvine,Ayrshire.His parents,from Antrim ,IRELAND , John Wright and Jane Purdie were dead by the time he married Margaret Duncan in Irvine in 1876. I dont know where they lived and died. Robert died in Kilwinning in 1888,his wife moved to Kilbirnie. There is a story that they were somehow connected to Inniskillin. Alex Wright born 1874,his brother, dissapears after the 1891 census where he was in Dreghorn as a lodger and miner. There is a possibility that the Alex Wright killed at Gallipoli in 1915 is he. This alex Wright was in the Inniskillin fusiliers and could be the scource of the family tale regarding Inniskillin. They had a sister Jane born in 1879,she married Thomas Skillen had seven children and died of diabetes age 40. John and Jane could be from Ireland and maybe never left. |
